I got myself an ATI Radeon HD 6900 when my nVIDIA GTX295 broke.

It was crashing my system. But all that went away when I installed the ATI.

Now, am playing games like MWO and WarFrame. WarFrame looks awesome with nVIDIA PhysX turned ON.

But you can't turn it on with an ATI GPU.

So then I was thinking, get myself an nVIDIA card to run together with my ATI card. nVIDIA card dedicated to PhysX and ATI to general video processing.

But then found out that this kind of "Hybrid Systems" do not work as the nVIDIA will disable PhysX in the presence of an ATI card.

However, having said that, it can still be done...or so they say.

All you need it some "hacked drivers"...

Look, all I want is the PhysX; hardware not software.

Anything can be done about that? And please, don't tell me to just go buy another nVIDIA GPU. My GTX295 BROKE for goodness sake. It didn't last. nVIDIA to me is not that durable.

sadly it not worth the trouble getting hacked driver to force the 2 type of GPU to work together

just stick to one type of GPU

Above poster is correct. Even though it may be cool in a few games, it generally is a useless feature.

It's possible, yes. However, it's asking for a world of hurt to get it set up correctly and keep it working.

Unless you had some fascination in making it work and wanted to do it as a hobby I would second all the other posters, dont do it because it just isnt worth the effort.

You do realize that the GTX 295 is around 4 years old right?

Yes, but it broke around 1.5 to 2.5 years ago.
