This isn't a content release thread and it isn't a QQ thread. I absolutely love MechWarrior and I love this game, I think PGI is amazing for what they've done and I'm thrilled to see a next gen MechWarrior game come to life. I've spend $910 on this game with Phoenix and Founders included.

I am however, very concerned that PGI is releasing the game on Sept 17th. I'm the type of gamer who hops between games a lot and always bounces back to a select few games, ever since closed beta MW:O has been the only game that's remained a constant for me, I always return.

I left over 2-3 months ago, at a point where PGI said they're releasing Community Warfare and they were going to do it in month by month stages. I returned recently and to my surprise found that all that's been released has been 2 maps and 2 very(my opinion) generic 'mechs.

With patches consistently introducing bugs, and bugs which take an exceptionally long time to fix - with a lot of the base content not released on scheduled consistently being pushed back I really hope this game doesn't release and then tank. While I'm really excited for release, I fear it will lack key content, and by some feat if it does have content I fear it will have game breaking bugs.

I know PGI might not have the ideal sized team, or their technical staff might not have the experience or prior engine exposure - or the one million other things that can affect development but please PGI reassure me and other players that this wont be the case.

PGI is a business and I get that these decisions usually have been thought out and there is generally a reason for pushing out something - sales, profit, growth etc but at the very least, tell us that: yes we know we can get some key features out, yes we know we can speed up content release without breaking things all the time(sometimes is fine), and yes we've factored in sales numbers, player growth, and retention.. if we get a bunch of players interested in the game, they come, and go... a classic MechWarrior experience might never happen again.

Ever notice that Paul seems to only work in 6 week stretches - always seems to be coming back from a 2 week vacation? Once I noticed this trend my purchases stopped completely and play dropped to 1-2 times a month. When they announced 3pv after nearly all of the community was adamant they didn't want it I started leaning towards uninstalling and forgetting all together.

It does seem like the PGI staff take a lot of vacation time...but to the original idea of this thread. I completely agree. I love the Battletech and MechWarrior franchise and really want this game to succeed. I too am constantly drawn to play MWO, it has been my constant go-to-game since closed beta. I acknowledge MWO has a lot of problems currently and also fear that if the game is "released" next month it could fail. An unfinished product shouldn't be released until it is finished. If it works as intended community warfare will be a huge part of the game. How can the game be finished and released if this HUGE component of it isn't completed and in game. I think PGI should push the release date back indefinitely until CW is in game and the basic gameplay is fully ironed out. The core of gamers PGI already has will wait. Me and the OP have and so have so many other players. If the game is released unfinished it could scare away the new gamers we need to keep this fabulous game alive. These last ten years without a new MW game I spent replaying old ones, just because I missed MechWarrior that much. I want to spend the next ten years playing THIS game, not waiting around for another developer to take a chance on the franchise in another ten years if this game fails.
