Oh boy, more XL's , you crazy person :)

I'm too much of a chicken to take an XL on anything other than a SP, if any.

Here's another 275 4P
2 LLsr
3 MedLsr

Surprisingly simple, but effective

´Knife Fighter´

Here is my 4P-C with a 275

6 small LaS Hump
1 Large Las Left Arm

A surprisingly effective and heat efficient loadout. You have to work hard to over heat it.

I just tried this and the first battle gave me 687 dmg, 2 kills, 8 assists. I'd say this is a bloody good build.

I tweaked it a bit, though. Moved some sinks from LT to arms to give crit padding to arm lasers. And allocated front/back torso armor properly. Especially notice RT where I only have 1 point in the back since the hunch is front armor even in the back. Only a very small area in the back is right back armor. By stripping a bit of leg armor you could actually fit in a 6th med laser in there, might be better.

Oh yes, i didn't bother with redistributing the armor. The valuse were the ones Smurfy came up with. The 4P in my mechbay has 8 on the hunches' back.

That heatsink in arm/torso is a matter of taste i'd say. I tend to loose my arms a lot so i never put more equipment in there than needed. But i see why you'd want to do that.

One more med lsr, mmm That is interesting. I find 31 leg armor pretty dangerous, that is the same as a jenner.
It gives you slightly better damage at that ~300 meter range But when it comes to face to face brawling the small lasers are actually doing better.

Maybe it is too heat efficient? It is ok to get to 99% heat ;-)
You could swap a HS for 2 more small lasers.

As a long-time Hunchback pilot I'm not sure if that matters to me anymore. I'm long used to the 89 km/h tweaked speed provided by the 250 engine, and I don't see any other variants other than 4P would benefit from a raised engine cap.

In fact I don't even think 4P would benefit from that. Too much speed will affect your aiming, especially when your main arsenal is lasers.

You don't have to run full throttle all the time. You can take off a bit of gas when firing.

Personally I've just upgraded the 4P (classic 9ml) to a std 270. 275 is too heavy not to give away too much armor or DHSs, in general the engine rating boost has been useless for me besides the 9ML 4P.

The rest 4H (ac 20 with 4ML) and 4SP stay at the same engines they had before, the 4H can't go past a 250, the 4SP I can get a 255 without sacrificing too many DHSs for it so I can basically enjoy only the torso/pitch quirks and other variations for the 4P can barely get to a 255.

I'd rather have enjoyed much more some acceleration or cbills bonuses for using mediums.

I'm a little surprised by the XL engines on these builds. The Hunchbacks rather exposed side torsos and thin arms mean XL engines a more of a liability than normal... j2l

I haven't actually used it yet, but this is my attempt at a 4G with AC/20 + 3 Lasers while upgrading the engine: HBK-4G

had to downgrade from 3 ML to 3 SL, and 3 tons of AC/20 ammo to 2 tons. a lot less damage potential and less range, and i'm not sure it's worth it for 8-9 kph.

probably would be better to scrap the AC/20 for an AC/10 or LB-10X

The best setup is an LBX10. You can do the 3 ML with an LBX10 without sacrificing anything. It has 10 less firepower not using the AC20 but you do get the extra speed and the damage potential isn't much different. Running cooler means you can alpha strike more often. It works about as good. From my testing anyway.

Today I am trying LBX/3SPL/2MG, but I did drop back to the 260 for more ammo. Seems about the same. I did the SPL because they have nearly the same recycle time as the LBX and I just group fire them, MG's on M2.

I think the 275 will be best for 4SP and 4P as they dont "sacrifice" much and stay at same fire power, well maybe a bit hotter but i found its not problem for me. As we get 12v12 i find sacrifice ammo its not good idea since we got more targets to kill i found ( example) 4t ammo for ac20 its now ok instead of 3t like i used to use when we play 8v8. so for other variants of HBK its really not worth to go for 275, and i found 260 is way better just bcoz we can get that "extra" ammo and still run 92kp/h w/tweak instead of 98kp/h and that is not big deal IMAO. As a proud owner of HBK 4H i found that std 260 5xML and LBX +3t ammo its work like a charm. U have 45 shoots assuming u not waste ur shot to full armored Atlas CT its more than enough for 12v12. 5xML its nothing u can ignore... 25alpha in a back and then a crit into open internals with LBX its something u just CANT ignore even as heavy/assault. And there is where hunch is shining :P we are fast we are agile we are deadly B) they ignored U ? fine just sneak at his back and unleash ur rage on them and make them suffer :D i got many games with score like 500+ dmg and some kills and MANY assists my best is 11 assists so far ( damn one sneaky light must hidden somewhere )

I snatched up that 375 standard and just wanted to pop in and THANK all you guys for motivating me and tossing me some load-outs to work with.

MOAR PLZZ! :P

Yep but i prefer the 18th DHS HBK-4P, that thing needs all the possible cooling and 1.8 kph more isn't worthier than that DHS (imho of course). And then I like when I run out of all the slots xD

Interesting trade offs. I am pretty happy with my 260 4P with 17DHS and AMS. I don't know how you guys use nine mlas that is a pretty hot alpha.

Srsly, y'all. I've been testing this little beastie since the patch, and I LURRRVS it. B)

HBK-4G

Just don't stop moving so your hunch isn't an easy target. Most fun I've ever had in a HBK. I've played HBKs since I started this game, and they've always been my main ride. By far my fav load-out so far!

Try the 46 armor in the hunch setup. Trust me you won't miss the back armor. It truly does work and will keep your hunch a lot safer. B) I lose my hunch with that setup one out of ten games.

Oh, yessir, I do indeed run the 46 front on the hunch. That's just good thinkin. Although... there have been a few (very few) times where someone absolutely nailed my 2 armor in the rears. QQ
