The Wolverine will be joining the MWO arsenal, a 55 ton medium battlemech.

The Wolverine has a top speed of 86 KPH, with a 275 engine augmented by 5 jump jets. It is considered to have average mobility for a Medium mech.

The 6R model mounts a right arm AC/5, head medium laser, and left torso SRM6. The 6R has three missile and two ballistic hardpoints, plus one energy for the head. (edited!) Note that the Wolverine has a right hand, meaning only 8 critical slots will be available for autocannons.

The 6K model removes the jump jets and exchanges the autocannon for a large laser and another medium laser, plus additional heat sinks. This variant would have at least three energy hardpoints and the same missile hardpoint as the 6R.

The 7K model uses Star League era technology to upgrade the Wolverine. The 7K has a large pulse laser, medium laser, small pulse laser, twin SRM6s, and 13 double heatsinks. That's at least three energy hardpoints and two six tube missile hardpoints. This variant also use an XL engine.

The image lists the variants; finding the weapon info is just a hop to Sarna (or to a TRO if you have one handy)

The Sabre Hard points are listed on the phoenix page.

Wolverine 6R Hardpoints:
Head: 1 energy
Left torso: 3 missile
Right torso: 1 AMS
Right arm: 2 ballistic

Griffin 1N Hardpoints:
Right Torso: 3 Missile
Left Torso: 1 AMS
Right Arm: 3 Energy

The Shadow Hawk Hardpoints are much more appealing imo.

Totally. Both has their main guns in arms instead of shoulder, making shooting from cover much harder.

But both of them look so damn awesome....

Ok mainly a Light Pilot who tinkers with a Centurion now and then, but with the Shadow Hawk, Griffin AND the Wolvering comming out I think I will have to do more than just tinker.

Man, everyone (including me) is gonna be running mediums come October! Fast moving and fluid battles, fewer cheese-whiz alpha-assault builds, run n gun = much more fun!

The hard point and JJ allow me to build 15ton heavier Clint.
dual AC/5 or AC/2 with some LRM and Tag on the head.

I suspect the other Wolverine variants hardpoints will be similar to the 6R, altered to accomodate for the weapon loadout changes. Are there canon locations for the additional weapons? The old TR doesn't list them, though some of the later products I believe did.

The 6R has six hardpoints. I'm hazarding a guess that the 6K/7K will have 6 as well, just spread differently. So the 6K could easily have 3 energy, 3 missile, but where will the new energy hardpoint be? (right arm alongside the LL? somewhere else?) As for the 7K, We've got 3 energy hardpoints and two missile; but where will they be mounted? Is there an SRM in each torso half? Will the extra lasers be arm mounted? Just curious if anyone has data on that.

For the 6R at least, I can see heavy SRM builds like the zombie Centurion builds, with triple SRM6 and support weapons. While not as good a zombie as the Cent due to having only the single laser in the head, it has jump jets. All the new 55 tonners have a 'shield arm' on the left, which is helpful, though it's not as immense as the Centurion.

These are big, blocky mechs in the concept art. I'm hoping that the Shadow Hawk as drawn is in scale with the Thunderbolt and Battlemaster (who are hopefully in scale with the other mechs of their class) and that the Wolverine and Griffin match the SHD. Otherwise, the blockiness of the Wolverine could make it more vulnerable than the Centurion.

Ouch.. so with the biggest energy weapon being a single Med Pulse laser (Headslot)... and the biggest ballistic is 8 slot..(Arm with hand)... this kinda leaves you with either 3x LRM10 / 2x LRM15 Missile Boat, or 3x SRM4/6.

God please dont mess up the Missile Tubes...

So...also 55 tons, kinda Kintaro with less Missile slots, and added smaller AC... and 500% better look.

I'm also hoping that this is the proper scaling, and the Saber artwork is just a photoshop created without thought to actual size ...

The Wolverine and Griffin are going to be of a size with the Shadow Hawk. Right? Even shrunk down to the same 'height' they're both looking a bit beefier.

the name of the mech just screams The Wolverine

the hands do look like there are claws hidden in there

pity there isn't melee weapon implemented in this game

maybe a future feature?

had the wrong max armor values in, reduced them to 370, but this build was created before the fix.
