Good idea. It would give a boost to scouting and cbills and xp could be awarded for identification of opposing mechs, Identification should require targeting using R until the paperdoll is displayed which would give an added use to the target identification module.

I'd even go so far as to add their last known grid sighted/location.

ideally all this would be on the main map though, not the scoreboard.

i like it!

this would increase the importance of scouting by expanding the role and along with this a reward for identifying mechs on the field that would go to the first mech to identify each mech on the enemy team.

I hope PGI adds more depth and importance to scouting, which is needed in my humble opinion.

This topic was started before the recent map preview, the new maps look to be ALOT larger and more complex. So this idea is even more relevant than before.

On planet drop it would be good to have a nice picture/load screen.

And the player team details, maybe some kind of intro text and there is a proper battle entrance and so simple it isnt even funny :P ok maybe it is.

Anyway, then have all enemy info rely on scouting, the battle intro in general needs some love.

Also scout mechs should have a built in bonus to scouting.

On one of the NGNG podcasts one of the devs was presented with this very idea and they seemed impressed, so there might be a chance of it happening sometime later down the road. ;)

I'd settle for chassis and alpha designation. I can guess the loadouts based on variant ID.

this is an extremely good idea. its similar to how it works in WoT's clan wars.
