GH ist a good system. If they stop it we will see a lot of boats again. But the documentation is bad - if they bring all informations to UI than everything is perfect.

This is true. I would prefer to have the information ingame. But I am waiting to pass judgment on that until the new UI debuts. But even if it isn't there, its no skin off my back, I know where to find the information. Its a quality of life addition if anything.

Many variants suffer from ghost heat and it has made some nearly useless particularly some of the mediums which could be moderately effective before.

What kind of boats?

PPC boats? They'll overheat so bad it's not even funny just on base heat now.

LRM boats? They're barely phased by this anyway; LRMs are the weapon that suffers the least from a firing delay.

AC/2 boats? Your funeral, but you shouldn't be barred from doing it!

Large Laser boats? Yes please.

Ghost heat targeted a few specific builds:

PPC Boats - Well, PPCs got the nerf hammer hard since then bringing the heat back to TT values. This was an issue, but I don't think really is anymore.
Dual AC20 - Current mechs already needed to make huge sacrifices to do this (No XL torso builds), and the Ghost Heat STILL hasn't wiped them away. I guess it was worth fixing, but I think some kind of recoil mechanic would have worked better, or better yet, fix convergence.
LRM Boating - Except people still do that, and it's not very overpowered due to AMS and ECM, particularly in 12 mans.

I can at least see why they thought these issues needed to be addressed. The rest?

SRM/SSRM Boating - Why? SRM Boats are only possible on a few mechs, and not overtly powerful. SSRM boating isn't the mech killer it used to be due to damage spread, and the mechs who can do this are generally not mechs you want to be up close and personal with.
LL Boating - Was this ever a problem? Seriously?
ML Boating - Why? The current limit of 6 only targets 1-2 mechs (Hunchies), and they were hardly the more feared models in the first place.
AC2 - Seriously?

There are better ways to fix these weapons that ghost heat.
