So I was just in the mechlab swapping my 350xl engine from one Victor to the other when I noticed that my Cbills had just dropped by about 6,000,000 cbills. Turns out, I screwed up and actually bought a 355xl for 5,798,333 instead of putting the 350xl in like I wanted to. I'm just so used to clicking through the prompts that I didn't even notice. So now I just spent 90% of my cbills (that I was going to use to get my 3rd Victor) on a engine that I really don't need since it costs me 1 ton of weight for all of 1kph of speed increase ;) So my first purchase mistake turned out to be a really big one. I guess it could of been worse though, at least it wasn't a MC mistake.
Anybody ever make a bigger purchase mistake than that?

I tried to play the game without buying mechbays at the beginning - and sold countless mechs to free up space.

I wasted probably 50+ million that way.

Back before smurfy's and the current mechlab, I blew untold millions accidentally adding/removing ff, es, and DHS.

The first mech I bought was the Atlas AS7-K. I foolishly thought, "It must be the best, it's the most expensive!" Then I started investigating builds for it and realized how inferior it was compared to the others. Big mistake and a big waste of Cbills.

I accidentally bought an extra Highlander 732 when what I needed was a 733. Ouch.

Yeah I figured some one would come in with a real money purchase but did you actually buy it by mistake or did you want it and then realize that it wasn't for you? Because I could say that I made a bad purchase too (though it was cheap). I bought a Spider (the one with only 2 weapon hard points both CT) for real money. But it wasn't a mistake, PGI was selling it for half off and I had always said that if mechs were cheaper I would buy one so I did. But after playing it for a while (enough to get all the basics and 16,000 extra xp) I just couldn't take it any more (never got the screwy hitbox benefit and it would of annoyed me if I did) so I sold it. And up until a couple of weeks ago it was the only mech I had ever sold.

Pretty Baby.

Yup, a flaming **** of a mech, that for some reason I was brain dead enough to spend IRL money on. And it was such a piece, I actually sold it just to clear a mechbay. But since I was NEVER going to use it, would keeping it have somehow been better? (Only consolation is I bought it on a sale, but yeesh.)

we made the mistake of somehow thinking being an IRL money mech it might somehow be good. Instead it is the worst of all Awesomes.

I bought one of the cbill dragons for MC when it was on sale and then two other for cbills when I came back to MWO when it was further into open beta. A accident? No. A mistake? Oh yeah.

Bought the CTF-3D for MC on sale. Never got it to be useful. Ended up selling it recently for the C-Bills after letting it rust in my mechbay for months thinking some day I'll make it work. Surely everyone who says it's one of the best mechs can't be wrong. I didn't even bother finishing off its Basics because it made me so uninterested in Cataphracts I don't see myself going back to them ever. My Dragons (Flame and 1N) were more fun and useful than that thing.

I accidentally bought a Victor because I thought I was on the test server and i wanted to test it out (I was on the test server, but my game crashed, and with out thinking i booted up the regular game client). I intended to try out the Dragon Slayer, but misclicked. thank goodness!

and lucky for me i happen to like the victor

Accidentally bought two plain Highlanders for MC. Felt really foolish that I didn't notice the prompts. Last time I buy anything while sleepy. Essentially I lost about twenty mechbays. At least they weren't duplicates, so I was able to use them for unlocks.

In the last week, I've accidentally bought an STD 350 for an Atlas build, 3 times. Then sold it, to get the engine I was meaning to purchase. I blame my new scroll wheel, and a touch of dyslexia, cause I swear I keep reading the interval wrong and re-buying too quickly.
Just ******* away C-bills like that, since you only get 50% back on the purchase price.

The worst part? After the UAC nerf, I finally had an excuse to fit a 350 back on my atlas. So if I'd kept one of those accidental purchases, I wouldn't be broke now!

Drunkenly sold mechs, because I wanted more buckets. Realized I'd sold my trenchbucket K with the rest, to clear up room. Rebuy it, refit it, go to bed.

Next day, realize I bought it with MC. Email support, they fix it.

During the great depression phase of closed beta, I bought the atlas K, so I was kinda stuck with that and my founders D for a whole cycle.

Bought the quickdraws. Ground them out to prove how hardcore (in love with wasting time) I am. Sold all of them, and never looked back. What a terrible robot.

Before they changed the mechlab to allow you to do upgrades in the loadout window, you had to buy the upgrade then do the weapons.. I spent untold millions over time upgrading to Endosteel, only to find out my weapons wouldn't fit the way I wanted them to.
