Using my Cataphract CTF-4X, I have equipped 2 Med Lasers and 2 Gauss Rifles (1 for each arm).

//////The Problem\\\\\\\
I have Gauss Rifles assigned to weapon group 1 and weapon group 2.

When I have a Gauss Rifle assigned to weapon group 1, it does not charge up or fire when I left-click my mouse.
A Gauss Rifle on weapon group 2 does charge when I right-click. When assigned to other weapon groups, other than group 1, the gauss rifles do effectively charge.
Med Lasers do fire when assigned to weapon group 1 though.

///////Workaround\\\\\\\\\
Assign Gauss Rifles to weapon groups other than 1 on your Cataphract-4X.

Note: On a Highlander-733C, Gauss Rifle assigned to weapon group 1 does charge and fire with Left-Click.
Extra Note: This has been occuring for at least 2 patches previously.

Just to confirm: You are moving the selector bar back to weapon group one before attempting to fire it, correct? I assume so, as you say they work on other chassis, but you never know. This is because by default LMB is bound to fire whichever weapon group is currently selected by the selection bar, not weapon group one - we just normally leave the selection bar on group one.

I ask, because I've never had this problem on my 4X, which is set up in the same manner - left arm GR on LMB/WG1, right arm GR on RMB/WG2, MLas on WG3.

Just tried out a dual-Gauss 4X myself yesterday, mapped left Gauss to 1, mapped right Gauss to 2. Didn't have any trouble firing - neither while firing both guns nor left/right individually.

Note: I did remap most of my firing keys, with LMB set to "fire group 1". Plus I never use "Fire current group" and I make sure to reset my fire-selector to top left (top weapon, group 1) before I shoot anything.

I think Wintersdark might be onto something there...

^This imho is the issue. I always have group 1 - left click / group 2 right click /group 3 middle mouse button /group 4 forward thumb click / group 5 backwards mouse thumb click / Q as 6th group on the keyboard (missiles or SRMs). Never used select or fire current group, that's probably the issue.

I'm pretty certain I've had my left click bound to fire group 1 since before open beta started, so yes, its been working for a long time.
