After reading through the last AtD as well as the AtDs before - i start to wonder if the format is only a reminder of old pre Beta Times?
I can understand the behaviour of both sides a little bit:
Spoiler
The GD forums reminds me more and more of Rudyard Kiplings Tommy:
Quote
O it's PGI this, an' PGI that, an' "PGI, go away";
But it's "Thank you, Mr Inoyue ", when the band begins to play,
...
...
While it's PGIthis, an' PGI that, an' "PGI, fall be'ind",
But it's "Please to walk in front, sir", when there's trouble in the wind,
All i read are demangind new things, claming back funds even insulting the work of other people.
OK it's the Internet - but i don't think it anonymity is a excuse for beeing an arrogant ruffian.
However - I don't want to insult other posters that think that their critism is objective and constructive - even it means that neighter solution PGI will ever be able to create will be sufficent.
- thats the part the community is guilty of: allowing more and more rude language and spamming the forum with dozens of topics with the same meaning -
Now my look at the fault of PGI.... maybe its because a conservative european mind - but the excessive use of superaltive when anouncing a new patch - even when communicating using the ATD form - it is not free of those hyperboles
I dunno when the communication between the Team of PGI and the community was draining... i can lifely remember a good open comunication back in the Closed Beta or even before.
With the update of the CoC PGI anounced that the informations they want to offer in the future will be reduced... with that in mind - i have to ask myself... why is there still a ATD?
The community makes attemps to ask the same things in dozen of different ways to get some new informations.
But there is plenty of time to forumlate a adequate answer that will answer the question without releasing new informations.
With that in mind - is the AtD still necessary? Is there any sense in keeping a "tradition" alive although the enviroment has changed?
Wouldn't be another format be more sufficent?
If so - what kind of format should that be?
- PLEASE READ:
I ask nicely to be kind of each other.
I look forward not to see any kind of insulting - neighter PGI nor other members of the community...
But if you think you need strong words or swearing to underline your point of view - please remember that there is a nice REPORT button next to the LIKE button

Given the current quality of replies, there is really not much information we gain from the Ask the Devs.
Maybe it would suffice to have that monthly and add another, bi-weekly or weekly format where the devs tell us about something they feel they can share with us.
But maybe it all falls flat because there is either nothing to report or no one that has time to report something.
