Since my achievement suggestions seemed to be fairly successful, here are a few game mode suggestions with a snazzy little drawing to help depict it. I'm not the best pen and paper artist, but it's more the idea that counts.

As with the achievement thread I'll add a bunch more over a couple days.

Raiding Party: One team has to destroy an enemy base that is composed of a generator, HQ, and defense grid. The defending team would prevent this. Rewards would be determined based on what is destroyed/left standing. Victory/Defeat is declared when all objectives or opposing mechs have been destroyed.

The attacking team would have an advantage of numbers. The defending team would have static defenses and time to position themselves for the attack.

Onslaught (PvE): Four/Eight players vs a horde of npcs using things like jeeps, srm/lrm carriers, hovercraft, tanks, helicopters, aerofighters, and maybe even boats if the map has water. Repair bays could be available (Would repair 75% of damage so you couldn't get back to full. Takes 20 seconds while powered down.). The enemies would attack endlessly in waves. Rewards would be given based on what each player killed before their mechs were destroyed.

Strike: Four mechs must infiltrate an enemy base with eight defenders and destroy a particular component and then make it back to their dropship. Victory for the attacking team is only achieved if they destroy the object and make it back. If the objective is destroyed but the players don't make it back, the game is a draw.

Convoy Mode: A team must defend a convoy of trucks, tanks, or a train on its way to a dropship. The other team is tasked with destroying it before it reaches its goal.

Duel (1v1): Can be selected when a group has two players. One on one battle. Two players start on each base.
No win/loss bonuses to prevent players from instantly DCing constantly to reap rewards. The time to gain C-Bills from damaging your opponent wouldn't be able to be exploited as easily.

CTF: Standard capture the flag with respawns. Each team has a flag they must defend. Static defenses prevent lights from nabbing it too easily. Three flag captures to win.

Dropship Repair: Two dropships have shot each other down and their mechs must help them get repaired. Collect fuel/parts to repair your dropship. First dropship to finish repairs destroys the other.

Clan Onslaught: Experience the terror of the Clan invasion on a distant world in the Periphery! Similar to onslaught mode. 4/8 mechs vs various stars of clan battlemechs.
The players must keep the npcs from destroying their HPG (Or similar structure of importance) or die trying.

In Onslaught some enemy mechs would be cool too.

Looks cool so far though.

Added CTF and Dropship Repair.

Yeah, though they do have guys handling specific tasks, not everyone is working on the same thing. The coders are probably busy killing bugs while the modelers and animators are moving forwards. Keeping that in mind I think they're probably stockpiling assets for release when they go to open beta and just releasing small bits to keep people happy until then. They could easily have 4 more mechs and another game mode going through testing right now.

Also it's just fun to imagine what might happen.

Onslaught while encouraging the players to achieve active objectives. Defend, Destroy, Capture, Assassinate, Retrieval, Escort. All while eliminating enemy infantry, vehicles, deployable turrets, aircraft, and Mechs. Should only support up to a lance of players (4 players) with any combination (i.e. 2 grouped up with another 2 grouped up or 2 pugs, 3 grouped up with 1 pug, 4 grouped, 4 pugs, etc).

Of course it could be years to incorporate around this idea, but one could only dream of a coop instead of deathma- I mean Assault/Conquest all the time.

Custom Game: Brings down a menu of the other game modes to choose from. When selected the group will be launched into a game hosted independently of PGI's servers.
There will be no rewards or pairing with other groups or pugs. Nice for those who like to screw and around and do silly things or hold private matches with friends. Reliant on the host player's connection.

coliseum. Battle to last man standing; entry fee required payout is the sum of entry fees plus bonus. Weight class enforced.

Or do the same thing but lance vs lance so with 24 players you could have 6 different teams.

Could make a ranking system for both solo and team play.
