On the NA Servers I haven't noticed, but on the EU servers, yes higher than normal ping. However I am in NA, so I have no idea if that makes a difference.

It does make a difference.

Can you save a build in the mech lab like you would save a tune/build in a racing game?
Any way to get back to stock load out?

No. Short of rebuilding from the ground up, no.

This or having a second(or more) mech of the same variant. Not economical for some, I know.

Mechlab question again

Li Song Mechlab is being flagged by Norton antivirus as unsafe. Seems like many people here use it. Is this just Norton being overly cautious?
You guys rock, getting so much from these forums, thanks for all your time!

I suspect it is just norton being too cautious, however I rarely use Li Song, I much prefer Smurfys Mechlab, and Smufy has a lot of other information besides the Mechlab

Mechlab again

Want to take out an engine. Does it go into inventory to be used on another mech if you want?

Will the game let you save a build with no engine? ( temp for lack of funds)

Can you sell the old engine?

Full price? ( I hope)

example want to pull XL325 engine and install XL290. must I lay out the credits for both engines?

Yes. Yes. Yes. No - half price afaik. Generally that makes it not worth selling anything, though I've gotten rid of some STD engines I know I'm not going to use. 380s from Banshees, 210s from FS9s, etc. Small lasers and SHS also usually get sold.

All sales are at half price. You can even use the Inventory button on the Home tab for easy selling.

Mech chassis might get sold at less than half since you never get anything back from double heat sinks, endo steel, or ferro fiberous.

The chassis itself has a base price, which you get half of it back if you sell the mech without selling it's equipment.

One of my King Crabs has two artemis LRM15s - is it a better idea to chain fire them or always fire both at once?

Chain fire, and alpha fire are more dependent on what you want out of those 30 tubes. With LRMs, I chain fire when I am trying to suppress a target, especially when I am not sure my salvo will hit. So 15 missiles wasted is better than 30. If I know it's guaranteed to hit, I'm firing all 30 tubes ASAP.

in addition to what IraqiWalker said, the more missiles you fire at once the more they spread out, it you fire a single LRM15 the missiles are likely to all hit torsos, a 30LRM salvo will spread all over the Mech and some may miss, a 40 Missile salvo against a Mech smaller than an assault some will probably miss, 50+ missiles in a salvo some will miss even a 100 ton Mech

Just for clarification:
To elite/master clan mechs I have to get 3/5 variants , same as IS mechs. Getting just Omnipods of other variants is not sufficient?

I own 3 Hunchbacks for diversity (the P, the SP and a AC10 version).
If I want diversity on clan mechs but would like to save mechbays I would have to buy 3 variants of a mech which I could sell after mastering them. But I could keep the omnipods to alter the variant which i decided to keep?

Yes. The CT is the variant for clan mechs. Keep in mind, mastery is not required if you do not intend to keep a chasiss. You need only Elite the ones you are going to get rid of.

You don't actually have to finish the elite skills if you've already finished the elites on 3 other mechs in the same weight class. You absolutely have to unlock basics. Try buying clan chassis that have the omnipod you want rather than buying the pods separately. That will save you some cbills.
