Seriously, where is it?

I'm trying to get some friends to buy the Phoenix mechs but there's nothing to convince them. No pics outside of artwork, no videos, no, well, anything.

Its the only marketing scheme I've ever seen that involves no marketing.

"Look at these drawings. Now give me money". Doesn't usually have a lasting effect, at least not with those newer players you want to buy into your product.

The suspense killed me a month ago, now its just silly.

There were a couple of threads with in-game pictures of the Locust.

It's adorable dude, it's smaller than the Spider if the scale is to be believed in the picture.

There is no evidence of Phoenix ending. You could simply wait until in game pictures are available next week.

Yes, well, you might also have thought that there would have been some or any publicity for launch, but you were wrong. Similarly, you might have assumed that in-game microtransactions would be, well, micro instead of between $15-40 per charge, but again, you were wrong.

So when you combine these two things, are you really surprised about the Phoenix deal?

Hey, look what Wikipedia says about microtransactions:

Quote

A micropayment is a financial transaction involving a very small sum of money and usually one that occurs online. PayPal defines a micropayment as a transaction of less than 12 USD[1] while Visa prefers transactions under 20 Australian dollars,[2] and while micropayments were originally envisioned to involve much smaller sums of money, practical systems to allow transactions of less than 1 USD have seen little success

"Paypal [...] less than 12 USD [...] Visa [...] under 20 AUD".

Microtransactions never were very micro.

Trolls are about today....

But to the OP's point, I agree. A bit of hype would be nice.

Hype is on hold for the Pheonix Pack.

We don't know if PGI borked the hitboxes, scale, or if we'll even get the mechs on time. Hard to be hyped when PGI has such a poor track record.

Those who just longed for Unseens all this time are happy to get them, others will simply never understand this hype, but if they play MWO they can calculate that Phoenix pack is the best offer from MWO money-wise. Still pretty much expensive, but it's the best prices from PGI.

You need help getting excited about the best deal ever for MWO? Even better than the + 30% MC bonus on purchasing MC? Let's look at the Overlord package I bought when first announced. 16 mechs (4 of which are special with ingame bonuses), 16 mech bays, 120 days of premium time, goofy cockpit items I could careless about, and all the loyalty stuff PGI is giving for meeting benchmarks in sales. It is a deal that keeps getting better for only $80 USD. The saber reinforcements is not too bad but is pretty unspectacular for most.

It works for the comic book industry.

Also Rembrandt. Posthumously.

I have been thinking that as well... Just seems odd that we haven't at least gotten one screen shot of anything but the LCT yet.

I would really like a sneak peak, and an announced end to the sale. #only7daysleftbuynao #buyitoreckmangetsit would be the two most popular hash tags on twitter. The sales generated by having an end date would almost certainly increase as the holdouts would be faced with the finality of the deal.

A sneak peak of the mechs and official variants with hard point info would roll out as such

Starting today:
Locust
Shadowhawk
Thunderbolt
Battlemaster
Weekend finally sale!
Monday last day craziness buy now and get a free bonus kicker (everyone who previously purchased would get it also)
TUESDAY APOCALYPSE

That is how you run a sale PGI, call any used car dealership and ask for bob he'll tell you.
