You guys knew this was coming, The two Ultimate iconic mechs for Clan Tech, Which mech do you favor?
I favor the Mad Dog because it's cockpit isn't on the front of the mech begging for an AC/20 or a Gauss to the face. And it doesn't have comical missile launcher "Ears" That stick up from behind hills. Also looks better and is expressed as a true bad *** in the Mechwarrior 4 intro!
Which do you like more? Why?
Video of the Mad Dog In MW4 Intro *its the highest quality video I could find, Sorry for the extra little bit on the end*

Masakari > Maddog > Timberwolf.
Yes the Timberwolf looks cool, but the Maddog allways felt more usefull in previous MW games and looks at least just as awesome. When it comes to MWO, I think even with the extra 15 tons on the Timberwolf id prefer the Maddog, unless PGI does some magic on those ears. I don't want to walk around in a big mech with verry big ears that will take out my torse and/or arm when it blows up.

I'd say Timberwolf, but why choosing when we can have both of them? :(
PGI has to be very careful with it. I think they may make the
"Bunny ears" separated hitboxes like in MW4, the TT armor distribution is not well suited for this 'Mech in a real time game.

These are 2 mechs that will just have to be included in MWO, they are so iconic.

Which one do i prefer, although the shape is a big disadvantage, i do like the Timberwolf more myself. A fast 75 tonn mech like that just begs to be piloted.

The thing i fear most though is that with the current state of the heat system and the unrestricted hardpoint system, the default loadouts for the timberwolf will so hot as to be unplayable. And its hardpoints will likely be heavily abused with the current system to create PPC+ballistic loadouts that completly ignore the shoulder pods, add on JJ's and you have another poptardding alpha boat :(

Yeah, the Behemoth/Stone Rhino is a favorite, same as the Kodiak.

Timber Wolf. I will probably deviate from the traditional Wolf design and use something out of the Falcon handbook by emulating Aidan Pryde and adding 4JJs at the cost from a couple weapons.

Of the two, I like the Timber Wolf more.

But what I'd really like to see is the Stormcrow.

Yeah, I've only heard of the Daishi and the picture of the cougar but both are very reliable mechs.

Thatès what I keep saying but then again, theyèd have to do the same for other mechs with jutting parts.

I can't help but wonder, will the Nova have to be revamped for MWO since like the original Locust its legs are part of its torso? I know that the Locust also had to be re-designed because of Harmony Gold and all that, but from what I understand mechs in MWO have to be able to turn their torso. I'm not sure why, that's just what I've read concerning the Locust.

If the Mad Dog or Timberwolf look something like this, I would take either one. But when it comes down to it I'll always still prefer non-clan mechs

Those two mechs are neither maddog or timberwolf! They are the savage wolf (timberwolf mark IV) and the Vulture Mark II(or III?)

They're Dark Age era mechs. They look great but deviate away from the classic design quite a bit. I doubt PGI will take too many risks with the clan mechs.

Still a damn fine video.

(Okay. Who's the freebirth that put the extra stockpile of red barrels at the back of the hangar?)

EDIT: ID-10T is filtered on this forum, but damn isn't? Weird.

If i can only have one, then Maddog. It is slightly more versatile than timbie, Maddog can have twin gauss, twin ppc, LRM/SRM boat from hell while being speedy and lighter.
But I still want both timbie and maddog, I like both of them
