Does anyone know if its possible to change a Hero mech back to its default colours as I can't see any default colour options (even among the colours I don't own)?

It's in the camo bit of the lab. Whatever colour you have selected and showing in the little square above the row of colours should show the original "hero" colour half hidden underneath it and you should be able to click on it to return to the original.

in which case you can exit then reenter the camospec tab to reset it.
