This seriously just happened. Assault game in tourmaline desert, our team has a lot of tonnage and we slowly make our way to the center. We near the wreckage and the first long range volleys of PPCs crash against our armor, we return fire circling right using the crags as cover. As we flank to gain advantage one of our few lights reaches their base and an enemy cicada and Kintaro almost run right into us on their way to stop cap, the Cicada goes down and the Kintaro escapes but not before taking a beating. But now we're closer to the enemy base then we are to the center of the map, and they know it. Across the field our opponent is moving in parallel to us, the final battle will be on their front porch. 200m from the cap point we come upon each other again and exchange fire, driven back we circle left into the enclosed valley. Our forces slam together and the next minute is an oil-bath of flying gears and servos, both sides taking heavy casualties. All too soon it comes down to our last hope- a one legged Victor with a erppc and a few rounds of AC20 left. Between him (or her) and victory is an Atlas with no weapons left and a ssrm Kintaro with a exposed and raw CT. BANG! BANG! The Victor jumps and turns trying to land that last hit but the Kintaro is too fast as it orbits the Victor hammering it with streaks as the neutered Atlas tries to be annoying as possible. The ssrms tear the armor off the Victor's remaining leg. BANG! The last AC20 round misses the Kintaro by inches right as the Victor's left arm and ppc are violently separated from it's torso. With no way to fight back the Victor seemed doomed. BANG! The Victor is rocked by another volley of ssrms, it's last leg is a red so dark that one more hit will surely end it. Our team collectively cringes waiting for the killing blow. But it doesn't come, there is only the familiar wail of damage warnings. The Kintaro was empty, it's last missiles had failed to claim the Victor and it's lasers were destroyed. Slowly, slowly the Victor crawled to the enemy base, and proceeded to sit in the cap with the Atlas until the last three minutes of the round ran out.
