Yes the nerf did hurt the playerbase (I didn't use "new players" for a reason) as a whole by pretty much forcing you into either one of three options.

Option 1 - Buy Premium, a Hero Mech, and get the bonus EC that brings up your gains back to par with the old 8v8 days,

Option 2 - Don't buy Premium, or a Hero Mech. Enjoy seeing your time wasted with each match, or

Option 3 - Uninstall, and find a "Better" game.

Personally I had 9 days of saved Free Premium and when I finally used it I was able to get a Mech and outfit it with what I wanted. Problem is that was after hours apon hours of getting no where in gaining EC. Its very obvious this "Nerf" was a strait "Nuke" of the EC gains.

Im 100% behind this topic. As a free user its too steep a climb to invest my time in playing, let alont buying premium time. I earn maybe 100k CBills from a Victory. Thats just if I get a Victory. So it therefore takes me 4 wins, an hour+ of my time, factoring in waiting on friends to ready up and take breaks, just to buy, what, a small/Medium laser?!

Now say I want to buy a mech variant, which most are upwards of 6 Million. Im looking at close to a month of playing the same mech, the same way, in the same role, in the same gametypes, just to buy a mech that I then have to upgrade, so theres a couple more weeks before that new mech is playable to my design.

I think it should take a week tops to earn a decent mech. And instead of Premium time, just let people spend 60$ on a membership like Battlefield Premium. 60$ and you get +30% rewards, flat. Stop trying to nickle and dime subscriptions fees out of people in F2P games.

This is a game where you can do absolutely nothing in the match and still gain money and experience points -- win or lose. You never not make money or experience. You never lose your 'Mech or any components shot off of it.

No, the nerf hasn't killed anything.

People who complain about this game have clearly never played EVE Online. Your ship gets damaged, you pay to repair it. Your ship gets destroyed, you lose everything on it. Your pod gets destroyed, you lose all of the implants in that clone.

Then again in Eve...
There is no pay wall...
If you have a really good day in Eve you can buy most things a thousand times over...
You make money in Eve while you aren't playing...
You aren't REQUIRED to rely on other people to be successful in Eve...
etc etc etc

So it's not really comparable at all, and you are just mad that if they change the MWO economy you (as a paying player from the sounds of it) won't have the advantages you have now...

See this require that they stop selling obvious advantages for cash...
b/c there will always be tool bags that would rather just pay tons of money for their easy wins (or simply because they're stupid) instead of simply being better every time...

I'm more or less option 3. I did come back for about 3 hours to get that champion mech that was offered. I saw the new ui 2.0 and now I miss the old ui. I imagine I will comeback when they raise the income to 8v8 days until then though I will be at other games. Got my dota 2 rating passed 4k and my league to platinum in ranked. Still touch world of tanks for the win of day bonus.

The players control the game. If you don't believe me, then imagine if right now no one bought anything else in MWO. The company would have to buy into the consumers wants in order to pay wages (or let the game die and loose all money).

But sadly, this is Battletech and 90% of the players have full time jobs and a 30 year erection for giant-stompy-robots: Meaning they will buy pictures of a mech that has a gold skin for $500 before any actual content has even been created. Go figure.

So chastising those in the community like myself who, as you know have a Gold Summoner coming my way, is any different than your purchase of a Vet and Overlord pack? Kettle meet pot. There are plenty of people who share your buyers remorse but there are just as many people who continue to happily support the game for our own reasons.

I just started a few weeks ago, and have to say, going from getting around 100k per match, down to 20k for a bad luck match really sucks hard. It just turned into a mega-time sink for me. Yeah I'm still learning. I can't be a pro at everything, and was enjoying my time playing. But this is pretty much a middle-finger.

No I'm not cheap or poor, I'm happy to dump cash into a F2P game, done it with a few others. Was going to at least purchase the $150 Clan just so I could have the Puma Collection, but with crap like this going on and god only knows what else in the future, I think I'll pass.

I feel sorry for those who are going to pick this up now and only see a P2W cashgrab. I was really enjoying it up until this point.
