I've done everything possible. My PC set up is high end inc updated graphics card. Please PGI check the servers at your end. I've started playing MWO last Dec and for almost an entire year my Ping was 250 UNTIL the latest LARGE patch. What's gives PGI??? Will this be fixed by next patch?

Having the same issue.
When the match starts my ping is around 200 and after playing a while it suddenly jumps to 3000+ and makes the game unplayable. If I exit the match and start a new one, it's the same deal. 200 for several minutes, then back to 3000+.
Never had such an issue before the patch.
Happened for me in around 7 out of 10 games recently.

From Singapore on fiber-optic connection.
Played since last year with no problems with pings ard 250 consistently.

After this recent patch, my ping constantly fluctuates from a ping of 300 to over 600.
Hit detection is basically majorly borked due to this.
PGI, please look into this problem

Any other posters with the same issue?

You do realize that it's more likely a general internet problem rather than a server-specific problem right?

My ping has not changed at all in the entire time I've been playing (since August 2012) -- still 28-40 ms most times and 60-80 ms during peak hours.

Yes same here after the last two patches its been a increase in ping. It first hit 650-700 now after the December 17th Patch it het a wopping 3000 ping!! I have checked both my line , PC and all internals this has made the game unplayable even getting into a simple game takes forever and once in " if I did before time out" Ping jumps too 2000 I can do nothing but use the testing ground I have no FPS loss so I believe this is indeed a server side problem.

Having similar problems. My ping doesn't jump that much though, about 100 more but there are long pauses in between. Anyone outside of south east asia having similar problems?

Have you guys tried a ping trace to mwomercs.com?

That way you can see where the problem(s) is(are) on the way between your PC and the game server. It will show you if it is a routing problem (nothing PGI can fix, as this is up to your provider) or a sender/receiver unresponsiveness (yours/PGIs hardware respectively).

EDIT: I did not have this problem last night (Europe)

Looks like i have problems when the route passes through north america. Slow traffic from some router/server in chicago, toronto, then timed out.

Same thing happening to me in South Korea. Was usually around 200, but now sometimes it'll jump up to over 2000.

Back in the States I was usually in the 60s :)

YES! Same thing happened to me. I'm in South Korea, during the past 1 yr+ that I've been playing, ALWAYS had ping between 200-400, now every match it does not drop under 1500. I really hope PGI fixes this.

I really have no idea what happened after the last patch but all I know is. That I will not be able too play MWO until it is resolved.

e.g. hitting a spider with 250 ping is hard enough trying too hit it with 2000 ping is mission impossible. But I have faith that this will be fixed....I hope.

After the patch it seems a lot better for me, it happens less often. I suspect it could be either the servers or the routing at server side. All other internet activities seem to work for me.

If that's the case only the system engineers of the equipment involved can solve the problem.

It was strange because directly after the patch it hit the 3000 ping line directly after it. and I have no trouble in any other game.

Also having the same issue, been with the game scince closed beta, but never had an issue before the patch, ping went from 250ish to 2000 and still some pure function call errors happen.

Did tracert to mwomercs and no issues at all,all other internet activity is fine, cant play with my sabre mechs outside of the training grounds, which works just fine... :D

Please have a gander at the issue PGI

Thanks
