There is a distance of 600 meters between the stairs that are leading to the western base. In fact there is a direct way to the eastern base from the river, but you have to go a long way round to the western base. There is a huge disadvantage when you have no jump jets, as you can hardly defend a rushcap.

tl:dr river city needs more stairs on western riverside

Take a mech with JJs. That will ease also to deal with the very useful movement archetypes, that have been well thought in relation of the presence of maps like River or Canyon Network.

Niko Snow, you see that? He got 2155 posts with a reputation of 1233 and that kind of quality is to be expected when people get a reward for the amount of replies.

John MatriX82, use the training grounds, you will find out that for Canyon Network the positions of the bases are unchanged. But the bases in River City have been moved away to the middle of each sides. The base on the left side, aka the western base, does not have equal routes to get there from the river. It is more hidden and it takes longer routes to get there than the very open and accessible right side base, aka the eastern base ..

I don't care about rewards and I'll never get one because I'm an "opposer".

You didn't understood the sarcasm underneath my answer. You're even right asking what you asked for.

The movement archetypes have been introduced leaving a lot to be desired in general map fruition for non jj-capable mechs, allowing a huge chunk of issues in dealing with problematic maps like those I listed and a system that wasn't clearly made taking them into consideration.

The new spawn points (along with the base change in River City) have even exacerbated the "mobility" issue, that's why I told you "take mechs with JJs".
