Forgive, how is this relevant to the reporting that the contest to all intents and purposes to many of those posting here is not working? How can anything be awarded at all if no records are being apparently kept?

Someone above him asked where their challenge reward was. He was answering their question, but didn't quote them.

Although what you've quoted from the challenge section is accurate... that is not what the announcement post has said:

There is nothing to automate if the base scripting that does this automatically fails to record the wins.

I played pretty much all day christmas with at least 8+ wins watching the counter on the page count, watching my actual stats update, and no wins recorded on the challenge tally throughout the day with no update. Checked back this morning with hopes somone had made it to the office to fix and still no wins recorded. Had multiple wins in all game types solo dropping on "any" mode.

I truly doubt "base scripting" is recording the wins. More than likely, saving a record of your match, its time and date, and your win or loss in the database is part of the server code that runs at the end of a match. The challenge meter is also probably reading that from the database, and caching the result for up to 15 minutes to reduce load on the database.
If that's the case, the most likely point of failure is the challenge meter not being able to read from the database. It's a very easy mistake to push the meter with the wrong database connection string (i.e. pointing to a development or non-existent database server).
I wouldn't worry. The data is probably there for them to get the exact numbers. If not, I'm sure PGI will make up for it in an acceptable manner. Since it's the day after Christmas, and I'd say most Canadians celebrate the holiday, it might not be until tomorrow that it gets fixed, but it will get fixed.
