I just read this article that discusses consoles and the increasing trend towards microtransactions and player reactions. We are not alone.

Digital entertainment is not alone. Games Workshop just pushed out a huge amount of DLC/Microtransaction material on black library. As if a stack of $30 supplements weren't enough, now there is a bushel of $3.99 digital only rules to keep track of.
