735 graphics card and i7. Plenty for MWO and a beautiful screen.

Not really.
It is a lower middle class card and therefore useless for modern gaming.

I am starting the search for a new gaming laptop.
I currently have an Acer Aspire 7741G-3647
i5-450M 2.4GHZ processor
ATI Mobility Radeon HD5650 (1GB)
4GB DDR3 Ram

I've started to price and I'll probably be looking for something in the $800-$1000 price range. I usually head to best buy, new egg, and tiger direct to do my research but I figured I'd get some suggestions from my fellow gamers. So if you know of any good retailers, etc. I'd appreciate it.

I might be selling my M15X with i7, 8790m, 6gb, smasung 240gb evo + 250gb hdd.

$1434 final price after discount.

I shopped and shopped, researched, asked around and this was by FAR the cheapest I found for what you get. I went with the special edition model which came up with some free upgrades (most importantly to me the 16gb ram and upgraded thermal compound) but I could have actually gotten a similar build with 12GB ram no thermal compound, no dead pixel guarantee and saved about another $200

LPC's customization options are fantastic. You have tons of options to choose from and can build anything from a budget mid-level gaming laptop to a high-level gaming laptop for just about any budget.

Thanks to EVERYONE that posted and commented. I appreciate you guys taking the time to give me your opinions, advice, and suggestions. Can't wait until it gets here!
What was the base model that you pimped out with all that stuff?

First of all, you have no idea what you're talking about.

You were right though, laptops are more expensive by nature.

Second of all, tell my laptop that runs the game at 50-60FPS all the time on ultra settings with vsync ON, that there are no gaming laptops. It probably out performs most people's desktops.

The guy asked for a laptop, his reasons don't matter, just like mine don't. So unless you have LAPTOP ADVICE, ****.

SO, moving on:

To the OP, I would really suggest saving some extra $$ and buying something like this:

With a laptop, since it's a little harder to upgrade, spending more initially is very much worth it! You might be able to catch that one on special as Sager is doing sales. Also this one doesn't look too flashy so you aren't ashamed to take it to work or w/e :)

http://products.ncix...-84508-1035.htm

Also, this MSI looks flashier if you don't mind that I have had excellent support from them with my previous laptop, also the price is right, and I think would be a better option than the SLI Lenovo (IMO it is always better to go with 1 decent card than SLI 2 low end ones)

That being said, my brother was playing on a laptop the other day with a 2nd gen i7 and a 550M, and he was getting a consistent 30-40 FPS on medium settings. So, not so bad.

BTW, if you want a i7-740qm in the meantime for your Acer, I'll mail you one for the price of a case of beer

This this this this +100 cSand.

Either you are trolling or you want to lose all credibility of someone ever taking you serious. There is and never will be a gaming laptop. There are just laptops that get slightly more powerful each year they do not or ever will be able to compete to a desktop around the same price.

Please tell me this is a troll 0/10

I use a Toshiba Qosimo X75

Toshiba Qosmio X75 Laptop
Intel Core i7-4700MQ
NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 770M with Optimus Technology
3GB GDDR5 discrete graphics memory
32GB DDR3L 1600MHz memory

*shrug* seems like a gaming laptop to me.

Mobile GPUs were very similar for a time to their desktop counterparts, but as TDPs climbed, desktop and mobile chips separated more and more. Still, even at their worst, hgh end mobile chips were still as good as midrange desktop chips. If a midrange desktop is a gaming machine, then so is a high end desktop. That gap is even beginning to re-close.

Laptops can absolutely be gaming machines; they're just very expensive. Also, you're replying to a post from January :P

Sorry about that. I was originally looking for how to set up my gamepad controller. Which I found out how to set up. But now I've also found out that using my current gamepad is a *bad* idea since the torso stick does not have the fine control necessary for good playing. When circling a target mech at medium to max speed it's almost impossible to keep the recticle on the target mech. Might pick up a better gamepad to see if that will fix things.

This one? http://www.amazon.co...#productDetails

It's a good laptop that will play MWO, it's similar to the one i own.

Depending where you buy from in the EU, you can find better so for example the laptop i have is cheaper and better.
