That's right, I'm playing MWO on my Samsung 36" screen TV. Initially, before UI 2.0, eveything seems to be fine, but after the patch and logging in, i can hear the music in the background but then the prompt states that "Mode not Supported"... Can anyone help me out with this?

Nothing wrong with playing on the TV. That's a good idea, actually. What you're probably running into, though, is the fact that most TVs don't handle a lot of different resolutions like monitors do.

UI 2.0 changed my graphics settings (and many of my friends), so that's probably what you're encountering. You'll probably need to change the settings to make them work for your TV. For me, that's switching from Full Screen to Full Window; your mileage may vary.

The catch? I don't know of a way to do that without logging into the new UI. This means you'll probably need to connect a monitor, make and save those changes, and then go back to the TV. It's a bummer, but you should only have to do it once.

Good luck, Mechwarrior.

"Mode not supported" means that the graphics mode (Resolution, Refresh Rate and Colour Depth) is not supported by the TV.

The only change that I am aware of with UI2 in that regard is that "Full Window" mode is enabled by default.

Are you getting this in mechlab or only when you drop into game?

What resolution is MWO set to?

What resolution does the TV support?
Be careful here - many TVs lie. For example my brother's reports itself as a 1080p, but is in fact 1360x768. However, in these cases you will typically get a picture but it may look terrible.
It may also be to do with the refresh rate that MWO is pushing -Now that MWO is fullscreen in the mechlab, if it tries to use a refresh rate the TV does not support, it may not work. However, if in windowed mode or full window, this should not be possible.

Maybe, maybe not.
Many TVs (especially older ones) only refresh at 30hz.
That means any FPS > 30 is pointless.

Seeing as 60FPS or thereabouts is desirable for FPS games, many TVs are not optimal for PC gaming.
