But I have no clue which version I should pick, so which one would you recommend and why?
The only mechs I have so far are the JM6-S and CPLT-K2, Which I both really like.

But the 2D2 is the best one, IMO as it has the most flexibility in loadouts. It only has a single ballistic hardpoint, but I never found taking multiple ACs to be better than carrying a single heavy AC. You can also fit it out as a 'Streakhawk' and hunt some lights, since they're pretty popular right now with the Firestarter.

He does have a good point about the XL engine. In general, you should be getting three of chassis so that you can unlock the better levels of skill bonuses. The 2x multiplier to your basic skills after unlocking Elite tier really helps.

THIS.
5M is the best value for the money and the best mech to get first if you plan to eventually buy all three. That said, the 2D2 is the best if you like missiles (makes a great streak boat or LRM skirmisher), the 2H is good for Dakka, and the 5M is a decent all-arounder and the jumpiest. My favorite of the three is the 2D2.

Can you post a good 5M build?

I built this one to try something new, and it turned out to be one of my most effective builds. Later I found out that I might have stumbled over a meta build. Heat efficient and works at pretty much all ranges. And at the time I mostly played lights, so I preferred decent speed over std engine durability.

Probably one of the best (competitive) builds you can put on a Shadowhawk.
One of the better builds for the SHD-2D2 also. Unless you want to run four streaks.

Probably due to Endo Steel/ Ferro Fiberous being needed on some of those builds posted.
The mechlab takes a while to wander through, maybe you have some random ammo in a slot somewhere.
This is what I use on the 2H
I would recommend getting 3 Variants of the chassis you have, that would be 9 mechs total. If you are enjoying the game getting a few mechs bays is recommended.

Obviously not mistaking AC/5 ammo for UAC/5 ammo.
How many matches did getting 10th place require? Nice work!

Very good aim and a big ass lcd tv as a monitor I run two groups, left mouse fires all three cannons, right just the AC2s...I open engagements firing all cannons at a little under a second interval, when the 5 jams I go to rapid fire on the 2s and alt back when it unsticks.
These are from tuesday night, back to back matches

Okay thanks, I googled how to get endo steel/ferro fibrous armor and got no results?
Edit: Nevermind, feel stupid now in upgrades.

Heh my bad for slapping the smurfy's together quick. lol
I didnt keep count, probably a little under 10 hours sat/sun. She was in the 100s almost immediately and I think I finished the first day around #20 something, Sunday was all grind looking for 50 points. Had a monster game early afternoon that put me at #8 and quit to go see the girlfriend. Woke up still on the board

In UI2.0 you go mechlab > configure mech > upgrades (not loadout) and you can change armor and structure type
