Oh I know, but lately it has been far worse than usual.
Speaking of which, man, I swear there is no reason to even run two-thirds or more of the mechs in this game. A cute little 3LPL Crab or Quickdraw...oh your wee little 33 points of damage...so cute. Then WHAMMO, 2 Gauss and 1 or maybe 2 PPCs right in a side torso and you're either out of the game or soon will be when the Arctic Cheetahs and Locusts finish off the the bigger threats. Group queue is no longer a place for playing with your friends. It is a place for our meta running overlords to kick sand in the face of the proverbial 98 lb weaklings that the non high PPFLD mechs represent. I sure hope the new comp queue draws off some of these folks.
To wit:
I had a match wherein a guy running a 2Gauss 1 ERPPC Night Gyr (caustic) one-shotted 4 enemy mediums and a Jenner IIc in a row by poptarting and then wrecked a couple others one right after the other. Can't imagine the frustration of those players, running up the slope to die without baing engaged by any other mechs. All but one got an alpha in against the NG, but it didn't matter. It just shrugged off the damage.
What is a flucking Quickdraw against that!? Hell what is a Marauder against that? More and more I am seeing teams of exclusively Hunchback IIcs or Novas with a wolf pack of Arctic Cheetahs or Locusts and 3 Night Gyrs and occasionally a Kodiak 3 or Mad IIc or a Battlemaster, and the damage out put is just off the charts. And that's it. I haven't even seen even a Timberwolf or Ebon in weeks...what's a Warhammer? That's a mech you say? Never seen one. These are good mechs, hell great mechs, but they are nothing compared to the alternatives that are currently dominating play. And then here I am playing a 60 ton "meta" build Quickdraw with a 33 point alpha and it is literally a joke compared to what most folks are running.
