My problems begin and end with Skirmishers in Conquest not able to figure why they lost.

Go back to skirmish mode. You are not able to comprehend basic winning strategies like "cap to win" and "Cap first, fight second" or "Let them fight for a single point, we'll take the other four and win".

So please, Rambo... stay in Skirmish. You are violating the spirit and intent of conquest mode.

I'd like to add something here matey:)
There comes a point where you HAVE to fight to hold up the mass of the enemy. The trick is knowing when that point is reached. Cap first, fight second has seen many, many, many losses......

My basic winning formula has been get three bases, fight hold them up-get a fourth should the opportunity arise. 9 out of 10 times I have not done that tactic I've lost the conquest game.

Ya, secure three bases soon as you can, and THEN you have a chance to skirmish and deny, that's the whole idea behind Conquest, but I always seem to get put on teams that think they are playing skirmish from the start. Absolute CHAOS it seems. JUST PLAY SKIRMISH, ya noobians.

Whine of the last few days, I spent SEVEN hours yesterday on essays and readings that were due, then SEVEN hours today doing on-line exams, another hour submitting an abstract for business law review article, then another two hours coaching my clueless mock negotiation partner, so now I'm left with just enough play time to join the NA solo kid's queue tonight b4 the school grind continues 2morrow.

I much prefer the more mature German / Russian prime times, those guys play MECHWARRIOR and not CODWARRIOR. I will be so glad when this term is over.

That's my goal too Kam. Get three, fight when you can. No point is worth dying over, go get the one they aren't guarding, fight some more. If you're a slow heavy or Assault, you're probably in the wrong mode, but secure a point and keep the enemy from taking it, preferably in the middle. Lights shouldn't. Mediums should help from time to time.

Nice to see you are taking an FRR stint (still getting used to your name change). You can find me and my cohorts on the public FRR hub. Just jump on and go to one of the dropships / cw rooms and ask if they need more. We can always can use someone who knows how to bulls-eye womprats with a t-16.

pwd: Dragon.

(Just don't make fun of the Finnish player's accents -- they will find out where you live and send you packages of rehydrated lipeäkala )

That's more norwegian IIRC. Is it anything like Maämi?

I think I have that spelled right.

no,mämmi is like a sweet beer porridge, tastes a bit like Velko Kozel beer.

lipeäkala/lutefisk is cod cured in lye,and it has a pretty neutral taste

Sportsmanship and empathy.
Or lack thereof.

Had a game last night in CW where our ragtag bunch of small randoms and solos was matched against one of the best teams in the game. Oh oh we thought.
But to my surprise and pleasure they took it easy on us, allowing us a chance to play a bit. They knew they were going to win anyway but gave us a chance at a bit of a fight. I was mightily impressed with that class show of respect.
Until....
They spawn camped us. They had a clear choice to just go get omega which they could have done in a matter of a few moments and win, but no instead they deliberately chose to force their way up to the drop point and gank us as we fell. My TBR didn't even GET TO THE FLOOR before I was half wrecked.
If they would have carried on being gentlemen, I'd have gone away from that game with a VERY good view of that group. A view I'd have related to others. Good PR no?
I questioned them as to they they did this, they said to get the game over faster and to move on-yet it would have been faster to just shoot omega...
Tree marking statement right there.

So my whine today is: As people get more success, why do they become more conceited and arrogant? We are playing a game not real warfare and even then, there are rules that govern the conduct of that...
Are there ANY big, pro groups out there that are not jerks?

Actually at that point its JUST about the cbills -- nothing else. The only way to maximize your cbills is to kill everyone. Were PGI smart, they would have given you a major cbill bonus for taking out the objectives depending on how many mechs you and your enemies have left alive.

Since PGI doesn't think about these things, you are stuck camping a spawn or being camped to get your C-bills worth in CW.

Just witnessed this gem:

A: "WTF? Why the teamkill?! Retarted or what?"

B: "Sry, bad case of shotgun face there, Sir."

The kill happened 15 secs after start, no enemy in sight

My whine is ,why do people have to start shooting their weapons at the floor or in the air for no reason. its a peeve, because you give your position away. and also adds to the random idiot that shoot off their weapon (DW especially) and end up shooting alot of team mates in the back Posted Image and not even a "my bad"

You do realize that PGI counts the manhood sack as being part of the front CT right (zeus anyone)? Growing one is a distinct disadvantage.
