If you entirely reliant on near perfect play from your team in order to what you want to do, you should probably stay as far away from solo public games as possible. No matter how hard you rant, you just aren't going to get what you are looking for on most occasions.

that wasnt *near perfect play*. it was simple basic gameplay.
theres nothing special in what we done.
no fancy flanking maneuvers, no awesome tactical maneuvers, no deep strategy.

just some damn simple teamplay. yes, proton is one of the best players of this game but that comes from his knowledge of the most basic things of this game and thats what i basically expect.

problem is that people dont even know these basics and dont want to learn them. they cant take any sort of criticism no matter the way it is told to them.

HOW? TBH we weren't even spread out that much.....we were nascaring as usual.....

Leads into your second whine....Once in a Enforcer and then in a Jenner....out of nowhere <BOOM> super crit CT hits. I'm squirming the mouse and backing like crazy...NO CLOSE RED DOTS...stop to get my bearings....<WHAM> CT HIT...I'm dead....WTH?

Rage quit tonight. seriously what the **** is wrong with this game when suddenly one night every single match is a loss and a bad one too.
I even just got legged in a locust by super accurate LRM fire and then splatted while running at full speed dueling another locust. There is no way a clan lurm boat could be that accurate when we were fighting between two buildings (no the other locust didn't have tag)

Dude...a Hellbringer that did 46 damage? An Archer with 27?

If you look at the other team there was no monster damage on their side either though....

That match must have sucked to fight through...

Well it is kinda hard depending if your getting shot at and your position. or even your or the enemies equipped modules. Unless it's in all out brawl mode where everyone is kissing eachothers cockpits. It may take a min or two for spotters to find a prime target.

At least when I do scouting I always try to find the loadouts, or chassis that will need to be taken out quickly. SO LRMS shouldn't be firing on the very first of my targets.

I'm gonna do another image here shortly about scouting lol.

But when your scouting, you get a light in sensor range. Your still looking for the bulk of the team. But the team runs off to that very first red blip.

"Solo Queue" I LOVE YOU! I REALLY DO! I don't mean to offend anyone by doing these. I do the same stuff too. It's all about the love!

This all reminds me of a game I played with Phil awhile back, on alpine. A UAV went up and I heard the call. I replied "No angle" I was working to get a position to shoot it down while evading enemy fire. It took a little biit. After the match was over, LOL I watched his stream, and saw how stressed he was. Wish he could of seen how stressed I was trying to get to that UAV, and also not trying to get shot in the cockpit. The dude that launched the UAV (If you watch the video) was on top of the mountain, and at max jump height when launching it. It was a very difficult angle to get. Sorry Phil it took a bit! But I Got it for ya MechBra!

My whine for today, was in Charlie lance, the usual assault lance of the bunch. We were playing river city and pushing as a team. Cept 1 guy from Charlie lance doesn't follow. The rest of the team starts engaging majority of the baddies and a medium mech ally joins the Charlie lance solo dude at the back. A red dot pops up beside them and I'm thinking yeah they can take it, otherwise they'll probably ask for help right? Nope. The medium mech goes down and me in a Stalker and the Atlas beside me decide to head back to help him out. The solo guy gets killed, I take out a Battlemaster and come up against a Daishi and some lights. Me and the Atlas get killed but not before dead solo guy quips...oh here comes my lance NOW. WTF man, if you need help you need to call it out, I'm not psychic.

Not so much a whine as an observation.

I am stuck in tier 5 for a variety of reasons. But as I am here it is fun to do the unthinkable for these very timid pugs here in the under belly. I have noticed brawling mechs is almost unheard of here, so after trying to figure out how to break the cycle of hide and peak till we get dead I am seeing, I decided to pull out the short range hunting king crab. Sometimes it is good to be the king. These poor timid long range/LRM assaults have no idea what to do when a twin AC 20 SRM KC with SPL backups gets in thier face and does not back down. So the team dies hiding over there while I sneak into my 100m sweet spot. They were going to die there anyway. I get questions like "why you look away after you shoot?" "How did you get behind that (insert large mech here) and kill it so fast?" "OMG assaults can kill lights!?!" If they are asking questions, they can learn. Oh I am still dieing horribly when my frame rate hits 7 and the team is getting stomped but just maybe the FNGs will get the idea, maybe..

River city assault...

Start on the ship side. Heavies and assaults head to the upper city to trade long range fire with the reds behind the citadel. As my long range weapon is an ac20, this is not going to work. Tell team we need to get across and take thier base. But they have LRM and will kill us in the water my team says. I reply I am taking the upper bridge across and while the reds are shooting the big dumb crab on the bridge you guys need to get across as fast as you can. I can tell the team is skeptical, heck I think they think I am nuts. The reds have LRM 20s erppc and erll and about 800 m from the bridge. I got this. Let them get lock shuffle to the head frame wait for 1st salvo to land then pin the throttle to 50 something kph twisting like mad to the other side. Made it with about 87%. The part that blow my mind the pugs charged across while I was getting focused on. Next thing you know it was a close brawl at the red base. Glorious little fight. Got 2 kills 3 most damage and died at 20ish %

They can learn...

Learning denotes long-term retention of said knowledge. Sadly, once they go to bed for the night all will be forgotten and they will start fresh and newb the very next morning.

Its August, MM is entitled to a holiday as well.

MM is however the thing most likely to cause me to pull the plug. PSR is an extremely bad mechanic, and it just means the longer you play the game the worse the match quality will get, as people who shouldn't be in high tiers reach them..

Ghost heat, bad maps, MAP VOTING grrr, hit detection, stupid feature, poorly implemented, got nothing on this.

Ok...had a Couple of REALLY GOOD MATCHES last night (whine comes later)

First one, I was in my Jenner and was in a lance with 3 'Sneaky Cheaters'....who were all from same group. They told me to stay with them and we'd have fun. Since it was 'The Bog' I was like "uh..ok"
We had a ball...snuck behind them and chased down heavies and assaults. We crushed the other team. All the while they were doing call-aways, targeting mechs, and saying "Hey little Jenner C'mere...got one". One of the better matches I've ever played.

Second match later that night I was in my brand new cherry Centurion....had a guy who was directing mechs like an Air Traffic Controller. "Hey...target F...Warhammer...he's CT crit" "Yo...mediums pull out of E7...two assaults coming in...I need some skullcrackers to go into E7 now". Again, we won - though I got popped in the last 2 minutes.

Now my question / whine...

WHY DO A LOT OF PEOPLE DISCONNECT WHEN WE START TO LOSE? Is it for K/D and W/L ratios like in COD?
I was 'abandoned' by 2 guys while we were being chewed on while playing on Caustic. It was like 2-8 and they just...left.
WTH?

What they said^^^

The PSR crap tied into a matchmaker that couldn't fall down a flight of stairs if it wanted too while running at the top of them and being deliberately tripped up will be the deaths knell for the game for me.

Its is hands down the single biggest and worse move PGI have ever made...... and they make a lot of bad decisions.

I have to say i'm desperate for someone to buy this franchise out and do it properly. Starting with completely overhauling the matchmaker so it can balance two pound coins rather than the gold bar and the chocolate bar that pgi seems to think works.

I have actually resorted to emailing them about this...twice... with a rather obvious frustrated tone. First email ignored second one casually dismissed with some naff acknowledgement. Seriously though guys i really think more people need to start clogging their inbox with complaints as i'm pretty certain they never read the forums.

The stupid thing is that the PSR system would work (i.e. Do it's job to some degree) if you removed the way wins and losses are weighted. Right now they are counted twice since win gets higher matchscore than loss, but takes a lower matchscore to gain PSR. If you used the loss algorithm for figuring up, down, and neutral matches, people would "stall out" at a level where they consistently do around 250ish matchscore. As it is, there are more ways to gain so you get most people perpetually gaining PSR at some rate. So, we have he phenomenon that causes everyone so much angst, the longer a person plays the higher his tier goes regardless of how well he does, with a few exceptions.
