And that's supposed to mean?

An HoL 4 man will win most of their drops. As will a Black Spikes 4 man. If you can't handle it get good or get rekt.

You just answered the question for me:)
Illustrated it perfectly, sadly.

Anyway...back to the thread topic at hand, whining!
Been struggling to play lately, it's getting harder and harder to log in. The camping and timid play is starting to make me not want to play at all. It's so hard to get teams to move or commit to anything!
Been trying to scout this evening, running about UAV's, tagging and locking. Reporting mech movements in chat-trying to give info to my team....yet they don't seem to want to play MWO. They just stand about, too scared to engage another mech...
It's killing the fun for me frankly.

It's also making me have severe misgivings about CW as well. What are these people going to do when they try that? CW is going to be DRIPPING with tryhard/meta teams. These people take their MWO VERY seriously (one group one game, spent cbills for no less than 6 strikes to try to kill me alone lol) and are going to lolfarm the casual playerbase in such a sickening way it ain't even funny....

Captain epeen above me is very correct "get good or get rekt" is exactly what they will have to do-otherwise they are going to be suffering the trolling in all chat every time they meet. They are going to get curbstomped unless they up their game DRAMATICALLY, and let's face it after seeing what a lot of casual players have complained about (omg!!!! 4 payers in a group on enemey team! NOES!!!) with the old queue.....they are gonna face a hyper pumped version of that in CW.

I predict major flow of tears incoming....

it arent camping groups ;)
given, the groups mostly consist of either my unit or a bunch of ppl that are regularly under the top 15 of the tournaments but that one doesnt even need TS or metabuilds. its just a simple command at start and off we go.

More OP ECM on OP clan mechs making for more 12-0 or 12-2 stomps.

It's pretty evident that you have to buy the OP ECM mechs to enjoy this game anymore.

Ever since getting my new computer and large monitor, I have learned this game has very little to do with skill but only who has the most expensive hardware and cheaty-est macros (I don't care what you say about it being legal, it's a cheat) to play it on.

Not sure what has me more angry, the delusions of 'skill', PGI's stance on this or the beavis and butthead mentality of the player base that gives in to this being 'good' game design or play.

Easy tiger:)
Clan mechs are simply NOT op-except the imbawolf. I own them all and have played them all to death, the only clan mech that is OP as all hell is the imbawolf.
The nerfs to clan stuff have gone a bit too far to be honest, the heat+burn time+contact time vs instant front loaded pin point=LOL most of the time. Take that disgusting imbawolf away and watch the clans struggle a bit...

As for ecm that only stops lrm boats doing what they do...now if your team builds correctly I.e everyone carries a BAP/CAP then usually ecm is not an issue. My unit has used lrm heavy teams in group queue very effectively as usually around 90%+ of us makes sure we carry.

But yeah I get your frustration. Certain meta builds require very little skill to output damage. If you want skill test though, locust or myst lynx. Iron man it:)

UNPOSSIBLE! everyone knows all groups are TS metabuilders! :)

will have to keep an eye out then for you, i'll probably be starting CW as marik most likely since my lone wolfiness is too lone wolfie for CW so may run across you then. :)

But is the Timberwolf really that good? I got mine a few weeks ago when they came out for C-Bills. I mastered them and now they sit in my hangar collecting dust.

I do better in Centurions and Stalkers and I most certainly have more fun in Ravens even if I don't do as good in them. I hate the low slung arms and the standard assymetric hardpoints. I hate the reliance on LRMs. It's not fun to play.

It has speed, firepower and agility. It's an excellent mech on paper. In reality I found it meh. Granted it might be my playstyle but I don't see them as overpowered. Good mechs? Yes they are good but not an "I win" button.

ive been trying the awesome (9M) out, holy cow, imo worst assault mech in the inner sphere. Even with the quirks it currently has it feels disadvantageous to use. i think the quirks need to be reworked.

I believe it is yes. All mine were loaded for brawling, I had three days of imposing my will whenever I felt like it basically. It has speed, armour, agility AND firepower. If you are an aggressive pilot, you'll simply wreck face in it.
I can't even think of one downside that mech has to be honest. The combination of it's attributes just add up to a beast of a mech.
So much so, after mastering them I have not touched them since. I have no interest in playing something so op-where's the fun in that?

assaults get much much better once mastered. dire wolves and atlases taught me that. OMG was the as7s a big sluggish target that tripped over it's own feet. now that it is mastered it is a wreaking ball that while sluggish gives better then it will get. may have to try awesomes some time but for right now the assault query is full so i am off to back stab some big sluggish targets in the cn9ah

Ended up on Aliisa's team earlier:) Me in my Raven 3L Aliisa in his/her Dragon. I attached myself to Aliisa and shadowed Aliisa with ECM. I acted as bait, turning enemy's back towards Aliisa....I think we ripped through a few mechs like that....
didn't have to speak, just clicked and moved a s a duo instinctively.

My whine is, why can't more games be like that? :P

This game is just worthless.

It's all Assault cheese and invulnerable lag cheat lights.

I think I'm going to stick with DCUO more and more. Who needs this aggrivation? I'm not having fun even when I win because of this garbage.

I budgeted 100 bucks to spend on online games this black friday, guess who got my money PGI? Not you. Fix this stupid balance problems where Lights and Assault cheese are the only things successful in this game. Convergeance, lag shields, insta-gimp loadouts of PPFLD alphas... this is revolting.

Speaking of Aliisa...soooo.

I FINALLY seem to have made my peace with the Huggin, by doing what I should have done in the first place and building a loadout that is as close to what Aliisa described in this very thread many pages ago. http://mwo.smurfy-ne...a349aef47a20c8c

So my whine is...what the hell took me so long to actually copy that loadout + why doesn't Aliisa start up a "Huggin School for People That Don't Huggin Good" or something like that?

No 1k+ games yet, but tonight alone I've managed to solo annihilate 1 Mad Cat, 2 Ryokens, 1 Atlas and 1 King Crab.

Turns out they all go down pretty easy when you melt their arms, legs and/or torso sections off so quickly.
