LRM's have been apart of the mechwarrior/battletech from the begining. In the entire history of the world there has always been some sort of long range weapon. Players that complain about LRM's being over powered are wrong. I have my fair share of LRM mechs. some of them are boats and some a combination of LRM and close in weapons. I also have my fair share of close range mechs that are very successful. My success in every match is based entirely on the actions of my teamates. 1000+ damage and 5 kills? not on my own.. ROFL stomped(getting stomped) ....not on my own. I have 11 other teamates. If you dont like getting spammed with 2000+ missles then play an ecm mech or change your tactics. But please stop your in game whinning about LRM @#$@@ and LRM @#F#%$. If you played better you wouldnt be dead. If you want a fast action twitch game go play a knock off of the real Mechwarrior.

Another tactical note to the derp.

When you go into the river on river city, you cannot cower behind the citadel all day expecting to win. You get surrounded and gunned down from all sides by smarter players that know how easy it is to kill you then.

on the voip bit, yes a few still use it. like the guy that had a fit i had the littlest lrm boat and could not hit anything right after the patch, (he was 1st or 2nd dead) you know were LRM lock on was right out the window. then at the end it was just me 50 lrms and tag in a lct-1m dodging 10 mechs while no less then 5 ppl complained i was a noob with lrms that could not hit anything. yep i could not hit anything as LRMs were screwed up. it was a fun 4 minutes. if i came to a complete stop and had LOS i could hit but in a locust that is suicide. heck even with a UAV i could not hit unless i was under 50kph. but to those who died before me i was the reason we lost as i was a noob in a locust with lrms

LOL one of the best late game stomps i was part of stagnated into the reds hiding behind the citadel and the blues cowering in the water. nobody was willing to move. might lose some armor. well to be fair we were LRM boat heavy. so i took my boars head over the bridge behind the citadel. got into the middle of them lunched a UAV and ran into the buildings before they got over the "OMG it is an Atlas" the sky opened up and it was lrms everywhere. then the few brawlers we had hit them hard while their brawlers were turned trying to chase my fast atlas in the buildings. very nice work for pugs.

Starting to believe that the ones that claimed VoIP was a waste of time was right. Finally decided to try it out. In 12 matches only one said I hear you after i did "radio check" tried to report a few positions. No reaction. Everybodu must have it disabled. Going back to chat.

also on the VOIP bit had a couple of really good CW games were 1 guy, who was had a real good grasp of the tactical situation, coordinated us, and we listened and went were we were told to. i guess i have to say 1 in 5 or maybe 7 games the VOIP has a been a help.

After voip landed my hit reg went from bad to BAAAAAAD. If I have it on it's just abysmal. Then I turn it off and it's still worse than it was before. It has affected my playing ability.
All forced upon me by prosolos.
Thanks guys.

yeah i had a match like this in my panther. find a yen lo. shoot 4MPLs at the ac20 right arm... and again... and again. showing hits directly on the armor. i check the paper doll right before i die. LEFT arm has orange internals. right arm still armored.

Yeah, I had something very similar happen. Shoot a centurion CT with SPL, his right arm gets blown off. Well, that was fortuitous! Then, I spend the next half-minute attempting to shoot the CT without thinking about it. Spectators told me later that my aim was an entire mech-length off to the left. If I have to lag-shoot by that much... no, that's not going to happen.

Que? no hablo espanol.
^_^

I'm seriously thinking this has a lot to do with it. Non-english speakers not understanding the same way I go... bwuh?! when Russian instructions are being given.

I had a match yesterday where the guy giving instructions had a heavy accent and then the voip was turned down or was just not clear and it was very difficult to figure out what he was saying. . . then he got really upset when no one listened to him and continued to chastise them for not doing what he had suggested (and wandered off by himself to do.) I also had a match where Rip Snorgan and I tried to use the in-game Voip and it was nearly impossible to understand each other so even when people try it doesn't really always help. I did have one match where the guy calling orders was brilliant and we stomped the other team so sometimes it works I guess.

Still new at this, but there's a lot of people who make the decision to stand in front of you when you're firing. I'm talking about me sitting there blasting a target for the last 10 seconds, and people decide "I'll just block your line of fire real quick".

They're not even trying to get to some where. They just stop in front of me. I'm guessing to get a piece of the action.

<<---And I wonder what those dots mean too! When I view my Forum Profile, I see I have 5 Stars ... but no idea why I have those stars :P

The stars in your profile are community clicked ratings by other users who took the trouble to click on the stars there in your profile, we click on those to downvote / upvote user profiles, and the overall votes on your profile result in 0 stars (worst) to full five stars (best)....what the dots mean <---- over there on the left in the forum, I don't know, but they seem to be keyed to how many posts a user has made, they are not necessarily a rating good or bad, just a tally of volume. "Likes" tally on your profile, and are distinguishable from both stars and dots.

My whine today is that I was in a game w/ Joseph Mallan, and I only blew off one of his components, while his team of cheatbots took me down early on, but we our team still won the game anyway :) Learn to play Conquest, Joe :) it ain't skirmish, but the skirmish was awesome there around Theta, a fine brawling good time was had by all :)
