Why did our stats get reset at the same time LRMs get a huge buff over all other weapons in the game? this makes all the new stats skewed to LRM builds, not accurate at all.

It is not fun playing in a mostly LRM fight. It is very boring and requires no skill other than coordinating with your team for focus fire.

The stats were reset because of the new achievement system, having stronger LRMs at the same time is coincidental.
In the course of your "career" in MWO this little batch of LRM-heavy games will matter little for your overall stats.

Also: is it just me or is anyone else finding the LRM-rain got less in the last 24 hours ? Gee, I wonder why...

well, now it looks at least as if everybody is very good in LRM aiming... *sigh* ... *running for cover*

In short, Fire Support is still the King, and will remain the King as long as LRMs can be countered by..

I run @ 56.3 KPH, I have no AMS, I have no ECM, and only using cover / positioning I am still able to DOMINATE people who bring LRMs.
