Uninstalled.

So I log into the game, and get into my favorite mech: A brawler.
The moment I step out of cover to move to more cover has the sky filling with LRM's.
Each match is terrible, and making it frustrating to play.
So I've uninstalled until LRM's are back to a reasonable threat level.
Now maybe I won't be so frustrated from playing a game I used to enjoy.
Hopefully things will be better by the summer, since I've bought the entire $240 clan pack.

LRMs are much easier to approach than the PPC+AC FLD meta. You might need to keep their heads down with an arty before pushing though.
But if you don't want to deal with tactics, I guess that's fine too.

1. The LRM buff actually indirectly helped brawlers, because they are a natural counter to Lurmboats (get within 180m, and it's ggclose). It also forces poptarts to be more cautious and keep their heads down more (to avoid the Lurms), which again helps brawlers because it lets them advance without taking as much pinpoint damage.
2. At the top of this forum is a thread by Paul that he's going to slightly reduce the speed of Lurms.

After all the times PGI has messed up, (No CW, poor hit detection, atrocious 'improved' mechlab, pop-tarts, alpha builds) why are we afraid to point out:
"Yeah, LRM's are 'Viable' now, but everyone uses them so each match is nothing but shooting at red squares from behind a hill."

So exposing yourself at long range and getting hit by direct fire weapons is okay, but getting hit my LRM's isn't? Would you be this bitter if you'd taken a double gauss hit? Or dual ERLL, or dual ERPPC + AC5? All of those weapons are still more effective at hitting a briefly exposed target at 800 meters.

it's a locust that already is behind you at the start of the match, turn around and kill it while the rains hit ya!

So that whole team just let a spotter line up shots for the LRMs. I take no pity on them if they can't move/take out the spotter. However....It is hard to expect those sorts of things from a team of pugs with no real way of communicating (Voip please)
I guess this is my obligatory L2P post.
The incoming nerf is the right step.

It doesn't matter. If the scout has you lined up, your team should be dealing with him. If you're running around in the city, cram into some buildings while you break LoS.
None of it changes the fact that direct fire weapons are still more effective for killing mechs. You seem bitter that we actually have role warfare that works, that spotters and scouts can make a difference. It's not like LRM's can function for indirect fire without a spotter, UAV, or NARC. Of them the Narc is the most dangerous, and it lasts a finite amount of time, so you can hide and then move again. UAV's can be destroyed and show up on the map, and have limited radius, and spotters that are behind you are usually very light and fairly easy to push away if your team isn't completely scattered.
Under any condition where LRM's are killing you, there's a reasonable solution in the game.

Also, Thank you for updating me, Fupdup. A 'slight' nerf to LRM's may make it feel more like a suppression-weapon than an 'easy-win' button.

Anyone who says that the OP does not want to deal with what they call "tactics" is a complete fkhead.
That match on video is not a tactical match. It was a ***** LRM joke.
CANT WAIT FOR ESO

that would be fine if my SRM and lasers worked on light mechs, one scrapes em and the other is a joke
so your advice is mostly for ballistic and med laser rigs that can alpha all day.
mine have large pulses, srm and maybe a med laser.
you think i can take out a light mech before the rain kills at least 2 team mates? you're deluded
maybe if SRM actually worked you'd have a point
and no, i won't take ballistic just so your point will be made, i don't want to.

guess you didn't bother reading Paul's cave in to the serial whiners? Guess what, they are returning MWO to where you know longer need to consider tactics or cover (two fundamentals of warfare, that of course most of the CoD crowd never seems to learn). Rejoice that the Poptart meta is again uncontested.
Because playing Battletech Pogostick is so much more fun than actual options that force people to think.
