this game still dos cater to the light mechs....always has.
this game is not MechWarrior...It shares the title but PGI changed way to much

and for the people who decided that light mechs are the end all be all.....
this is not high school....your adults....you don't have to worry about the school bully picking on you....80+ ton mechs should NOT be easy targets.

Hi,

As others have mentioned no one has paid for this mech yet.

The goal with a marketing promo like this, is that players will achieve this mech "for free" by playing the game.

That has 2 benefits:

1) It generates population spikes on weekends, which is good, especially during sale periods (like we have now with the hero mechs, and will have with the Phoenix patterns & colors).

2) When a player gets a free mech, they might be tempted to purchase or acquire other variants of that Chassis. This is another way to promote sales.


So basically this is incentivizing acquiring more mechs, and more vanity colors/patterns.

I think this pretty much confirms my belief that forum users will complain about literally anything. Personally, I find it hard to get overly angry about free things. Heck, I wouldn't have even been mad if they had given away a Phoenix TBolt, as long as they still gave me an extra one so I could sell it.

So you are mad that PGI is giving away a free Tbolt and mech bay that only requires a couple of your hours to get the 5 wins required and a Tboly by the way that is a new variant and is actually rather good if not one of the better versions?
I'm sorry but I fail to see where the anger comes from. Even if you don't like the mech, HEY, free mech bay.

Oh I see, you are one of those people who believe that just because you are in an Atlas, Lights and Mediums should do nothing to you because you are 2x to 3x times their weight... And possibly are also one of those who cried when you got capped by Lights who saw your Assault, Heavy team, and being 300 to 400 tons under weight said "screw that" and decided to cap you out other then play your game of stand up and beat each other to death, which of course they would have lost.

Also, sense when have Lights dominated lately? Last time I checked it was Heavies and Assaults dominating with Mediums left to pickup the tab.

They are pretty hard to miss, they are like literally the size of a walking barn. And they are usually not the fastest kid on the block either. It is like they are wearing a big "shoot me" sign on their enormous CT. With this being said, a good assault pilot is quite a force to be reckoned with, as is a good pilot of any chassis size in particular.
