Players need to have more information available to them when making purchases in the store!

We go to the grocery store and can see all of the nutrition information.
We go to the pharmacy and get information on the drugs we buy.
We go to the auto dealer and get all of the specs on the cars we buy.

But when we want to buy a new mech in MWO, we get next to nothing!
The functionality is there in the game to display all of the information - we can see every last detail of the mechs we already own in the mechbay. Why not add that functionality to the store? Why can't I mouse over a mech and see what its loadout is, what its hardpoints are, turning speed and torso twist stats etc? Why isn't there a button to see the full layout? Why can't I see the alpha damage of the mech, the heat scale, all of it?

As it is, buying a mech in MWO is a blind purchase. Now, many of us know to go to Smurfy and check out what the mech is all about, even play around with it and see how we would personally modify the mech. But that's like an auto dealer saying "dude, I don't know how fast this car is, or what it's miles per gallon (kpm for your Canadians!) are.. you'll have to go to some website and figure it all out for yourself... if you're still interested, you can buy it for such and such a price."

Please please please make it possible to view the full information on a mech in the in-game Store! I know my way around the game, I've been playing since beta and I've been playing Mechwarrior in general for decades, but many new users will not have the level of familiarity that I do and will not know automatically what a CPLT-C1 comes with, or whether an AS7-D-DC is better or worse than a SHD-2D2.

As it is, there is only the name. I can't even tell what the weight is unless I'm familiar with the chassis from some other source. I can't even sort by light/medium/heavy/assault to get a general idea of what it is I might be purchasing.

The info you're looking for is already present in the mech bay, you can see the stats for every mech bay by changing the filter from "owned" to "purchaseable".

But, should this exact same feature be available in the Store tab? Absolutely.
