Arguably this 'leg-focus' can sometimes be to the advantage if you have a high mounted weapon and cover for the legs. I've seen this happened more then once on my Victor-DS with its torso-LL mounted.

Yes, I have noticed that as well, if you can hide your legs the stupid AI turret will still aim for them and hit rock lol,

Exactly, find a spot and calmly kill the turrets with any energy weapon you have equipped.

I was the guy shooting at turrets in at least one of those games.

In Assault mode, I look at it as my goal to assault and capture the enemy base.

At any cost.

If that doesn't mesh with your strategy, then adapt.

=H=

There's the Davion Strategy I have been missing! Just adapted to having to blast your way into the base before Capping can proceed! I really would have thought that would be more a tactic for CAP-ellans, but maybe you are from the CAP-ellan March? :D

-(Seriously, is that like in the House Davion By-Laws? Pre Turrets, every time I dropped with a Davion PreMade, instead of actually supporting the fight, it was off to cap they go. Sure it's a term of victory...but dear god, almost as boring as Poptarting! I'm pretty sure it was Davion premades that forced them to finally add turrets and skirmish mode, lol.)

You best learn to adapt to them turrets, or you will end up dying over and over to them. Then you will come to forums to QQ.

You are the one who messed up,

You left ECM cover and the group.
You did not focus fire with the group.
You left cover and went in to the open under the gaze of several turrets to try and kill a disco'd mech.
You ignored the active mech and active turrets.
You caused the death of one team mate as we tried to rescue your butt.
You died to a turret!

At that point I had very few options left, I could not see into base without exposing myself to turret fire, I had a red leg.
If I could have removed the turret, I would have been able to lookm into the base and kill the last guy.

Your constant whine after you died so distracted me that I started to reply, and that lost us the game, if I had simply ignored you I would have remembered to activate the damn lrm turret under min range and destroy that fast enough to beat the clock and kill the last mech.

So yes, it is my fault I let your whine and stupidity cost us the game lol

does that work if the OP never named anyone? :D I mean, they kinda "incriminated" themselves, as it were (though I am still uncertain as to the actual commision of a crime...... I suppose that "It depends upon what the meaning of the word 'is' is?)

The "group" consisted of me, you and one other light with our Stalker appearing from the far end of their base and engaged the Shadowhawk (he's the one who killed the Disco).

I was firing on the shadowhawk?

No I left cover, I assumed I would die. I was firing at the Shadowhawk when our Stalker died.

I was wrong, I assumed the two of you would also go after the Shadowhawk.

That was my mistake, you're right.

I was on the shadowhawk, yes I died to the turret. I didn't expect to live when I went out, I thought we'd end the game there.

I don't blame you when it was just 1 v 1 with the Shadowhawk, I said that already.

I'll just remember not to push or soak fire in my assault next time, I must have a head full of rocks really.

Well they are flinging back and forth at each other from the game... so it's devolved quickly into name and shame.

it sounds like they are as coordinated on this forum as they were at the end of the match. :D

Can't we all just get along?

I assumed you were the stalker on the far side.... so I take that back about going for the disco and standing in the open under the turrets.

We did support, the other guy was just to slow to get around the corner before you died and my heat was so high I had to start to pull back to cool.

In any case, we should have just let the derp stalker die instead of trying to save him.

The decision to make his "coming out" was made by the accused, but not named, party, who of course has the right to explain himself as the party involved. No name and shame to be found in this thread!

Still... please keep it civil and try to not fling to much dirt at each other. :D

that is what I thought, but is good to have confirmation. I think they have hugged, made up and are currently holding hands and singing kumbaya while slagging mechs together.

In House Marik we have a little rhyme to teach new players about the other Houses.

Davions love fast caps and meta, as a word to the wise
They pull this **** 'cuz they are the "Good Guys".

The Dracs in the Combine are an honorable sort.
They watch you die and then commence to snort.

The Rasalhagues sure love their mead.
Half are really clanners and the rest don't heed.

The Capellans do what they've always done.
Get real competitive when they really want fun.

The Steiners love their really big mechs.
Except with the lights give them peck, peck, pecks.

Clanners are where the tryhards go.
They really suck and then they blow.

 :D

All in fun, make up a good Marik one because I sure won't.

Liao premades are incredibly rare
When we invade Sian will there be anyone there?

If you follow a Steiner's plan than you are a Fool
"Four Atlases, flanking!" is their Rule

Kuritans are smarter in game than in lore
They leave their Dragons behind the mechbay door

That's right, I actually had this happen.

A 3M and another light sat there shooting turrets while 2 of us tried to finish the game taking on the last 2 players of the opposing team dug into their base.

Instead of 4 on 2, it was 2 on 2 because shooting turrets for XP is safer than trying to win the game.

Instead of a come from behind win, the game ended with a Shadowhawk (OpFor) turtling to protect his KDR and a 3M sniping a non-activated turret because "I need XP".

/rant off
Yeah they really need to re-up the XP and c-bill rate. Or at least the c-bill rate.
