It also appears we will be able to get within 1 energy hardpoint of the "B" variant based on some pod swapping. Not to mention I think the "B" variant would suffer from low ammo (2 tons stock). Probably would need to drop a laser or two with that build anyways.

Unfortunatly, you'll only be able to get within 2 energy weapons. The prime Stormcrow carries an energy hardpoint in its head, but brings a minimum of 22 double heatsinks with it that leave no room for any weapons or equipment in the side torsos, and barely enough room in each arm for a couple lasers. You would have to use the C config as a base, and bring in an arm from the prime for a maximum of 4 energy hardpoints.

While this is a bit depressing, considering what we could have had, a U-AC/20 with 4 ER medium lasers, 3 tons of ammo, and either more ammo, an extra heatsink, or maxed armor on a 55 tonner that moves at over 100 kph is still very good.

I really want to know the engine ratings on the non-prime light variants. I have a feeling that the Adder Prime is going to be about as useful as something like this JR7-K just with 3.5 tons more toward heat sinks.

They're all the same. On all mechs. The engine is part of the base chassis which is exactly the same across all variants. (it's actually technically configurations but... )

Even then 22 DHS is going to make those energy loadouts run (relatively) pretty darn cool

Especially since Clan DHS are only 2 crits

Left arm from the C configuration (1 ballistic).
Right arm from the prime (2 energy).
Left torso from the C (1 energy).
Right torso from the C (1 energy).
head from the prime (1 energy).

The prime may have 22 DHS but the 12 outside of the engine are not hardwired. For example the Stromcrow C only has 10 DHS.

Again this all assumes there are no restrictions on the omni pod combinations.

True.

The minimum HS for the Stormecrow/Ryoken is 10 DHS. So any other "stock" configurations that have more, can be removed.

Also do not forget that the ERLL is only 1 Crit and 4 tons, so it will fit anywhere a ML can, or in the case of the Stormcrow, the head.

Warhawk / Masakari
Note: All Warhawk carry a fixed Targeting Computer

(If anyone else spots any errors I missed feel free to point them out so I can fix them.)

I don't have a TRO handy, I believe the the basic info on mechs are pretty much copy-pasted from them.

Additionally, though not truly fixed equipment on the chassis, theWarhawk managed to incorporate an advancedTargeting Computer into each of its configurations, making all of its direct fire weapons extremely accurate.

Must be a wiki-war going on, when I made my lists, that line wasn't there
I checked for it, because I never had a TRO, so I didn't know what was or was not fixed....which means I probably should have left those notes off. :)

The masakari has a TC on all of them, but it is not hardlocked and can be removed.

Not entirely true. "Though the Computer must be modified for different weapons arrays, and in fact sometimes consumes more room and weight, the basic computing boards appear to be built into the frame of the 'Mech." pg 38, TRO 3050 first edition, 1990.

Ok, I was about to contest this, but reading the omnimech construction rules again told me that the minimum number of heatsinks was bound to the chassis as a whole, rather than the individual configuration. See, I thought it was just impossible to remove heatsinks that came stock with a config, and where they all were located was determined solely by the CT.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have some posts to edit...and some loadouts to theorycraft...

Yup. We all make mistakes and assumptions. But admitting when one has done so, or being open to the possibility? That's when good stuff happens. (Besides, the fact that some of us are walking freaking encyclopaedias of this crap..... doesn't really say all that much good about or "IRL"s, lol! Oy I need to get out more!)

Very nice list, Shar. However I think that Warhawks targeting computer is not fixed.

If you go here and look for the PDF titled "BattleTech 35122 - Technical Readout - 3050 Upgrade-OEF.pdf" on page 140 there is a section titled "Weight and Space Allocation." Here it lists the the allocation of fixed items like endo, ff, DHS, etc. Of note is the fact that the TC is not listed here but is instead listed under sections with the various configuration's weapons/equipment.

For comparison the Adder on page 120 has it's flamer listed under the "Weight and Space Allocation" section. The flamer doesn't show up in the weapons list for any of the configurations, presumably because it has been identified as part of the base. Also, other instances of fixed equipment such as the Nova and Summoner's jump jets would suggest that the Warhawk's TC is not fixed.

EDIT: OK, think I got that link working now. ;)

The TC on the Warhawk seems to be rather like the MG on the Timberwolf
Half the TRO say one thing - the other half say another.

Given that we do not know what the TC does yet - I would assume it would not be fixed, but at the same time it is probably wise to plan for the worst (IE that it is tonnage we have "lost")

Bleah. I put in a request for a refund on the Ryoken Collection after I found out neither the A or B config would be available.

I really wanted to see it running around with a Blackhawk arm on one side and a big cannon on the other, but wasn't meant to be I guess.

well, the biggest issue for me is that we don't know if the A and B are going to be available. Just because they are not in the initial Package. I am willing to bet we will see more variants for CBills, though the Devs inability to confirm or deny is rather annoying.

Fortunately for me most of the versions are the ones I wanted for my Thor Pack, especially the Nova-S, or I might be in the same boat as you on the refund queue.

You can build both of those configurations with omni pods from the ones we are getting. I think the B would be short 1 laser. Otherwise the hardpoints are just in different locations.
