My Top 10 Observations Of This Game

1) Do NOT stop inside a choke point. Either get through it, or do not go first. When you stop, you take the brunt of their assault and prevent others from getting in the fight.
2) Do NOT park your mech right on the backside of the guy in fron of you. It prevents him from backing up if he needs to.
3) If the guy in front of you is backing up. GET out of his way. These things dont have rear view mirrors and if he is taking fire, he needs to move.
4) There are more places to fight than the center of the map. Everyone wants to rush to the center. Try the edges and you may be suprised at what you get.
5) If you are not a light mech, dont chase a light mech. I cant believe how many times I see a heavy chasing a frakking spider.
6) If your light mechs are chasing their light mechs. WATCH where you are shooting. Most damage to friendly light mechs are due to their own teams friendly fire.
7) Stop running off and leaving the assualts behind. Espescially the Atlas. Nothing worse than an assault getting picked apart by lights, because everyone ran off and left him behind.
8) Everybody thinks they are a Rommel and that everyone else is a ******. Dont know how many times I have read chat only to see a dead guy calling his team a bunch of *******.
9) Everyone thinks that a missile boat is a coward, but a guy using dual AC/20 is awsome. They are both using game mechanics to their advantage and both are valid tactics.
10) Friendly fire happens WAY to often because people fail to check fire when a team mate is in the line of fire.

12. You stick with your Lancmates and cover each other.
13. Slowest Mech in the Company/Lance makes the pace.
14. If you hold the Highground don't peek over the edge but wait for the enemy to close in.
15. Lights should flank behind or sideways to enemy forces to give LRM users locks and the rest of your team the knowledge what is awaits them.
16. Light are no Assault Mechs use them as scouts with limited offensive and defensive capabilities.
17. If your enemy has higher range then you disengage and force him to close the distance.
18. Never leave someone behind. The smallest number on the Battlefield is 3. one moving two covering
19. If its fast shoot the legs. If its heavy shoot the side torsos.
20. If Jack Corban is on your team you are the NOOB!

3.) If he needed to back up, he need not run forward of me.
4.) The center of the map is where I KNOW where the enemy will be.
5.) The spider is an easy kill to blood my 6 PPC mint Stalker.
6.) What's the big deal, its not like we have insurance for the damages.
7.) Assaults steal kills with their insane alpha. Plus they get in my way.
8.) The blitz wasn't my fault, the assaults cannot keep up.
9.) Considering that they didn't fire fast enough to keep the enemy off me.....
10.) See number 6.....

1. How do I shoot my target from cover and how do I stay in cover?
2. How can I run away to cover / team?
3. Where is my target damaged (and is he damaged)?
4. Am I affecting the battlefield and where can I be more effective?
5. What squares (on the battlegrid) does the enemy control (with their weapons) and what squares does my team control with their weapons (NOT where the actual mechs are!)
6. Is this a good position to engauge the enemy and where is a better position?
There are only a couple tactical points I would add:
1. Always be moving across your opponents canopy as fast as possible (traveling perpendicular to him) EXCEPT when he has just fired and moving straight at / away from him (or reversing direction) doesn't give him an easy shot.
I fly in mediums a lot so I spend a lot of time hiding behind assault mechs:
2. When attacking from cover around a corner with another player, move parallel to your friendly's course. (You would be surprised how rarely players don't peek around corners at a right angle. If they pick a weird angle I follow. They are going to be taking the extra damage for not being able to get back into cover fast enough but will have nothing to complain about as long as you don't block them!

And this is why people with great KDR's can also be horrible team mates

Lights 1v1 usually ends up one dead light and one not battle-worthy. Medium vs light though - easy kill for the medium.

2) Does anyone even remember that ECM has counter mode? I think haven't seen it used in over half a year now.
This would be my biggest gripes with players.

- Not everyone brings a sniper mech to the party. My AC20 and MLasers aren't going to be happy being 1000m away popping out of cover for snapshots.
- When I'm in an LRM mech a light running around me is going to win eventually, I could do with some hawners to kill him

But anyway, threshold >200 dmg detects crabs very well.
