The Arrow? Early Reviews?

I picked it up, because well, JJ Medium, so gotta have it. Repainted it (like that interesting prismatic/metallic sheen.
Gotta say loadout-wise, not sure it needs much change. Some people obviously don't like the WUBWUB, me, I do just fine with it, especially for an infighter.
I've only got to use it in testing grounds, due to some bandwidth issues, so probably won't be til later I get to test it in battle, but on the testing ground, it cored out a Commando in 5 seconds with the MG alone, and a Cicada in 6. Even locked, and with a nerfed torso twist, it seems plenty agile still.
Anyhow, what's the verdict, thus far?

3, I bought 1 to spend some of my MC. The game is getting so stale I don't think I will be playing much longer, so might as well spend the MC, but hero BJ brings nothing new to the table really..

Should be a rock solid BJ (9 hardpoints!?, JJs, and better side to side action....yes please).

PS i think the paint looks best when its all white or black, gives it a really cool sheen.

Um....maybe I shouldn't acronym that?
Anyways, I want to see what the June Mech will be, first. If it's the Grasshopper, I'll get that instead. If it's more variants, I might take a month off.

And yes, I loves me some mediums, currently filling my cicada addiction. Yes, that seems to be the correct term for it, addiction. An uncontrollable urge to use something that you know isn't good for you.

To me you may as well go XL engine for the speed/weapon/equipment space as a zombie with such little armor as the blackjacks have just seems pointless and wont last anyway.

Actually saw a Jager carrying 6 MGs running around killing them. I'm assuming he was doing it for the lols.
Can't say I have an impression either way. I ran into one with my CPLT-C1 and was easily able to outmanuever him (315XL > 235) and core his side torso before he could do much. He was fixated on my ears which don't have any ammo anyway. Looked like he was just running the default loadout.
Saw a lot of trial mechs, but very few Arrows.

How to Battletech, the Arrow
Notice the Tier 1 technology, it makes this mech both viable for the growing 3025 private match movement, and in-line with traditional battlemech designs (read not PGIzed). Battle mechs don't strap on double heat sinks because they can, their is always a design based requirement. Same with Ferro and Endo, classic battletech mechs have those upgrades, not to fill a void in their critical slots, but because it serves a purpose.
Additionally from a game design viewpoint, this mech also creates a c-bill expense, moving game money out of the economy (not as much as adding 2 more modules slots to every mech and adding two new consumable damage items, but it manages to keep its dignity).
Frankly, as much as I like Blackjacks, this one holds little value, I cannot use it in 3025 matches and the excessive ballistics paired with a meager engine cap are a recipe for disaster in public play. You guys turned what should have been, for me, a "must buy" mech into meh.
On the other hand looking at the Champion Shadowhawk, I can see where you are going, if you can't fix the game, then build meta-rific trial mechs, sadly that is a vicious circle, right above the drain of disaster. You are literally indoctrinating new players into a very unbattletech meta, and I believe that is a slap in the face to founders that put their trust in you to make "A Battletech Game", and who want to continue to support "A Battletech Game" when MWO returns to being one.

I actually like your design better from a classic perspective, jump jets equal to base movement is more common than not (although a 225 engine would warrant 5 if it were allowed).

true. but at that point I felt we had to switch enough stuff to no longer really fit the "feel" of the Arrow.
I also played with the 235
ARROW
and probably "truer" to 3025 spirit
ARROW
slower but way better combat endurance
and true to TT speed and the trooper designs
or for fun....
Ghetto Phoenix Hawk wit a busted wheel!

This is what a Jagermech with 2 Small Lasers,

Not to mention the BRIGHT WHITE paintjob.
In game stats just before the end.

O.o;

Armor hasn't got much to do with whether or not a mech is viable.
