I like the burst fire over the 20 damage per slugs, precisely for this same reason. In addition this makes the makes them feel more like an autocannon over a field gun.

I like the burst fire mechanic. I also like that I have to consciously activate the double rate of fire, rather than having the gun jam on me when not expecting it.

The Clan UAC 5, should fire one round like the IS UAC 5. The Clan UAC 10 should have a 2 round burst, the Caln UAC 20 should have a 4 round burst. As they are now, IS ACs are way more powerful then Clan ACs or UACs.

IMO:
- IS mech's need burst-fire too.
- Really liked the sounds.
- Am unsure regarding screen-shake: Does it only happen on the first shell hit or each time?
- UAC/20's jammed very frequently (on me, at least).
- The length of time to fire all the shots in the burst seemed a little long to me.
- Loving the 1/2 ton of ammo.

I am concerned that the UAC/20 and the AC/20 do not share a heat penalty for the Clans. When you can build something like the follow:
This is a Thing [DIRE WOLF-B]: CUAC/20, 3xCMG, CUAC10, CAC20, Clan XL300, DHS
That's gotta raise a flag.

IS should keep their singular slug. Adds more variety to the game and gives IS an edge. Which it needs. I don't wanna see ACs being vanilla across the board again. The clan ACs add some variety while having a reduced cooldown, it's a well-done system.
That being said, AC/10s and AC/20s should probably have reduced dps while being more tonnage and hardpoint-efficient imo.
UAC/20s were far more powerful than UAC/5s and /2s. If that's what we're shooting for when it comes to balance, that's fine. Was just a red flag to many people that larger calibers were simply superior within 800m.

Liked the burst fire, though a slight increase in ROF (i.e. if burst RoF is 300 rnds/min, then increase to 450 rnds/min) for the burst would be ok, I think the rate of jamming is about right, seeing as I did get jams, but they were not jamming constantly in the manner that caused me to reject the IS UAC/5 outright.
