The only thing they would have to do is add a STD 60 to the game. The stock build works fine otherwise.
Stock Urbanmech [URB-60]: SLAS, AC/10, STD60

Warning: contains some swears and uncontained childish laughter. I recommend you watch this fullscreen.
I started recording for this video last week. The expectation was that I would explode quite a lot and most of the humour would come from being downright useless. I mean, it's an UrbanMech, what good could it possibly do?
Apparently, quite a lot. This may mostly be down to people ignoring the laughably slow spider in favour of more obvious threats. The fools.
The Deputy Dawg approves this post and message.

We already know how the MWO Urbie would look, and it would look GREAT:
Well, maybe the in-game 'mech would have less top-hats and cigars, but still. It's a great design,
GIVE US URBIE NOW!

Since most players have already shown that you CAN do one, even with PGI's own 100eng rating minimum along with the 10HS, if a spider can do it, then why not actually make one? Ya it would be tweaked to fit into this game, but hell, IT WOULD WORK!

OH GOD COUNT ME IN NEXT TIME.
I also highly approve of this thread's sentiment of adding the real urbanmech. Even if we are stuck with the STD100 as a minimum, it can still be done. PGI, the people have spoken once more.

Again - I think an Urbanmech would be more effective than people think. An urbie would actually be SMALLER than a Spider, and more ignored, just given the reputation.

You miss the point. Yes, they can make an urbie. They know there's demand for it. But to do it properly they'll have to reengineer how the engine is handled in mechlab, at least. Otherwise a 60-rating engine would need to have a negative weight on mechlab, and that would make no sense. (and it might actually not even be possible if they have sensible safeguards built into the code like ensuring components don't have negative weight...)
I'll be waiting for the urbie... I'm sure I'll want to play with that thing if it ever gets released, if for no other reason than for the lulz. But I'm not holding my breath.
Edit : And most importantly I wouldn't want them to take resources away from CW implementation for the Urbie.

I felt it would have been unfair on my foes to fit a STD100 AND jump jets. There is such a thing as overkill.
Yeah, you're probably right. My urbie has a STD100, jumpjets, and I switched the small laser for a medium. The clans will be no match!

Urbanmech quirk: engines only work at 60% efficiency. i calculated the speed thing (i forget where i found the formula for mech speed calculations) and it comes out to 32.4kph with a std 100 engine. tada urbie! (may have to include endo to make it work as far as the weight between what a STD 60 and std 100 would weigh)
