He has only 14 salvos. And remember how hot even 2 standart AC20 are. He will literaly tear himself appart. Remove two heatsinks and add ammo or downgrade to UAC 10 and this will be even more devastating due to longer staying power, lesser range dmg reduction and the ability to shoot without overheating.

I'm much more concerned about the quad Gauss Daishi.

He'd run out of ammo after killing 1 or 2 mechs... thats if he dosnt assplode himself overriding the Heat-shutdown he'd be constantly uner.

Remove 2 heat sinks? How do?

Wont work. Tried firing 3 UAC20's at once in public test, auto shutdown and stayed shut down a for a long time. Insane amount of ghost eat, I assume PGI are trying to avoid people trolling around with large-calibre AC boats.

Fixed it for ya- 5 tons ammo.

Deimir's build reminds me of the 6xLB-2X build I used during the second test. ;)
Let's face it, the Dire Wolf offers near endless possibilities for fun, direct-fire builds! :)

No worries Uac 10's and 20's are junk. Better off using a direct 20 otherwise you will never core a target unless you have a clear shot the whole time at 1 body part. Even then your looking at 200 round's to kill anything. clan uac's are absolute garbage.

That's only true of people who never developed fine motor controll as infants.

For the rest of us they are fine.

I spent about six hours trying different load outs with the Dire Wolf on Sunday. Learned a few things:
1) As others have said, Ghost heat makes spamming UAC20s completely impossible
2)The Dire Wolf is a terrible brawler. It's slow, has a huge hit box and awful arm/torso speed. DPS weapons like the AC2/5 are at best inefficient choices
3) C-LB20X is a great choice, especially in a pair, coupled with a couple of ERPPCs or even medium lasers
4) Alternately, Guass work well here too.

The kicker is that you really need to front load your damage with a Dire Wolf (a trick with clan weapons) since nobody is going to stay in your front arc long enough for DPS or long duration beam weapons to work very well.

Also, you can only charge two Guass rfiles at a time. For just exactly that reason :-)

Paul said you can only charge 2 gauss rifles at once, so no alpha striking with more than 2 gauss. Sorry.

Ha. Well, hat's off to you sir. I'd like to add that it also help a lot if the target is stationary. As soon as that torso starts shifting, you're *going* to spread that damage around, and miss with parts of it. High skill helps a lot, definitely. But in practice I think they'll end up being a lot better than "junk" but at best dramatically harder to use, especially on arms or worse, a torso, as slow as the dire wolf's.

you might try one of these:

2xGauss + 2xER-PPC: DWF-PRIME

4xUA5 + 2xER-PPC: DWF-PRIME

4xUA10: DWF-PRIME

Good to know - I'm strictly IS. Still, I don't think I'd like to be one-two'd by that thing, either.
