Did Pgi Ever Say Anything About Non-Omni Clan Mechs Or Is Omni's?

I don't manage to read evey word that PGI puts out, so maybe I've missed it, but have they ever mentioned whether the current mech-lab can support non-omni clan mechs or inner sphere omni mechs? Since, right now, it looks like IS and clan mechs are all just lumped together and the loadout screen figures out what to let you do on a mech-by-mech basis, it LOOKS like they wouldn't need to do anything to support them, but that could just be the way it looks on the outside. So, have the devs ever said anything about whether UI 2.0 and the Clan updates are hard-coded to clans being omni and IS being non-omni, or whether that is set on a mech-by-mech basis?

I'm just curious if PGI would need to go back into the Mech lab code to support something like the Kodiak, or if it is a simple matter of configuration now. I know there are no cannon IS-omni's in 3049, and that is fine. This is just a technical question: have they said if the mech-lab supports it, or would it require more code changes?

I would expect all the technical aspects of adding IS omni and Clan non omni mechs are in place.

Right now, I don't think clan non-omnis would be a good idea balance wise.

They have stated that any future IS Omni's that they may add would follow the same restrictions that the Clan Omni's have, however I don't know that they have ever said anything about Clan battlemechs.

Clan second line mechs tend to only have a single variant, so it would screw with PGI's XP system.

I'm not particularly worried about if/when they would actually introduce IS omni's or clan non-omni's at this point. I'm just curious if it is now technically possible or not. I thought they might have mentioned something in the flurry of clan stuff recently.

I'm aware. What I'm trying to find out is if they said the CODE is right. To be extra, super clear, I'm not asking WHEN IS omni's or clan standard mechs will come out. I'm asking if the Mech Lab now has the technical capability to support them.

I was looking for some candidates for Clan Ember the other day and I've seen a bunch of Clan Battlemechs with 3+ variants.
