greetings everyone!!

ive finaly got off my butt and finnished my mech cockpit!!!

the link i have provided holds all 94 images from start to finnish, thats about 2-3 years worth of time!! sometimes i was all gung ho and other times i had problems that just waited till i could figure them out but here it is:

just a reminder, this cockpit realy isnt up to battletech specs, its my vision of a cockpit that can also be used to play mechwarrior

its all made of just plywood, 2by4s,nuts ,bolts a bit of plexiglass, a buttload of screws and my imagination

please be kind with your comments

Awesome simpit man, but does it not get hot after a bit playing in that thing, even with the fans?

Btw, I doubly appreciate you posting this so I can show my wife....as she will likely NEVER bust my chops again about my gaming habit after seeing just how far it could go! :P

Well, go big or go home, right? It's funny to me that there are all of these special apparatus' to play games with, throttles, sticks, peddles, and MWO is just easier and better to play with good old mouse and keyboard. Ain't that something?

Very nice work!

What is it like getting into and out of your pit? Seems like it might involve some acrobatics.

*pulls wallet out and throws it at viperdave*

TAKE MY MONEY!!!!!!!

p.s. I personally would leave the joystick in, just to have the real (pain in the rear) experience.

Greetings,

Nice simpit.

Question, Do you have any glare from the red LED's on the monitor?

Did you look at placing small 90Deg right angles over them to direct the light down the side walls?
(they looked really bright in your pictures section, thought it may be a concern.)

Your question to PGI about the use of your small monitors and linking any data from the game.
- There is currently new work with the API data so maybe something from that will assist, but for now I'm sure that they would just display 'No Signal' as we have in game now.
- The update for the ammo count and weapons ready is monitored through the game, it's just gathering where that info is being produced and how it's sent to the in-game monitor location.
(but those small monitors currently are only able to work through a flight sim program, s not sure if they could even display the required info your looking for.) ~ have you looked into smart pads? They may be able to be configured as a small second monitor and capture a specific location in the game cockpit view? (a side monitor specifically, Mech dependent.)

Again, great work.
