As a user, I want to be able to find components, modules, or cockpit items attached to 'mechs through a simple common interface without having to access every 'mech individually.

Searching is fine and all, but it'd be far better if PGI simply let us put an item into multiple mechs. Purchased that Hula Girl for MC? You can put it in as many mechs as you like, without having to juggle it around. Dropped a bunch of GXP and 15 million c-bills on that module? Now you can put said module into as many mechs as you want.

Given how much you pay for these things, and how cumbersome it is to put them on and take them off, PGI really does need to give us this quality of life improvement. Sure, they may lose out on a few duplicate sales, but I imagine more people overall would be inclined to invest in cockpit items and modules if you didn't have to manage each individual copy. I'd wager that the overall increase in sales base would more than make up for the loss in duplicate purchases.

But of course you understand why they don't do that, right? Why make the Hula Girl so easy to use when purchasing a half-dozen does the same thing?

Definitely want a search feature. I only have one Target Info Gathering Module, but 20 Mechs that share it. After a night of running a lot of different Mechs and builds, I sometimes forget which one has it equipped, and have to go through them one-by-one to find it. This is a common problem for me with several of my more expensive modules and engines.

Even a simple "strip all modules from all mechs" option would be nice.

this could exclude consumables, and in place of the "auto refill" option for the consumable, there could be a "lock" checkbox for the non-consumables that would allow you to exclude a module from the auto-strip (so, for example, your favorite mech can always be ready)

Bumping. It's crazy this isn't there already. Something like this should be simple if the architecture of UI 2.0 is at all decent. As a stop-gap, the mech select screen that shows consumable modules when you click on a mech should show all modules. This would allow to users to at least see modules by clicking on a mech as opposed to having to push through multiple screens.

I'd like to add that while a simple "strip all modules" would be better than nothing, and maybe sufficient for people with a few mechs and a single module of each type and/or few modules overall, for people that own many modules and many mechs, it would not be very helpful.

This is because in the latter case, players may have mechs they use a lot that have modules that the player doesn't want to remove. The search feature in this case would allow players to find that one module on the mech they used 2 weeks ago and remove only it. When a player has 75 mechs and many modules continually assigned to various mechs, searching is the only acceptable way to implement this.

It's such a MUST-HAVE, it shouldn't even need to be polled! I mean come on PGI. And no, until the expensive 4-6million module prices go down I'm NEVER buying more than one of each one.

Also, while equipping a mech, please allow a module to be able to un-equip itself from one mech automatically without having to 'configure' that mech. This is SO unintuitive and the mouse-clicking and save-time waits are beyond ANNOYING!

They want you to buy multiple modules. They are crazy if they think I'm buying more than 2 seismic modules at 6mill each.
