So the takeaway is - spend bare minimum. Dont buy something unless you have no choice. You absolutely can not trust that money you spend will not get devalued by balance changes.

For example hero mechs. You should, apparently, stick with free trial mechs bwcause if you buy somethingbecause it works and has value today, when it gets changwd or nerfed or even completely removed later you are at fault for having purchased it before.

So dont buy stuff unless you have no choice.

Good advice . I'm tired of spending real money for mechs and have them come along shortly after with a #$@%y patch and make me regret giving them money to begin with.

Sorry, but if you missed what I wrote in my post, and all that other posters have posted, then you will never get it.

Let's go back to your original response to my question then:

They complicated it by making unasked for changes to a system that feels more of a penalty now.

Giving you the ability to use more modules feels like a penalty? Really?

They broke he module slots down and are telling the players they will bring so many consumables, so many Mech enhancements, and a weapon module.

Are you telling me that being given the ability to use more modules is really so complicated? Why? Are you one of those who thinks that:

More Choices = More Complicated

Would you actually prefer less choices?

View Postdamonwolf, on 29 July 2014 - 03:21 PM, said:

They have taken choice away because, lets face it, there are only 2-3 modules that people will use because they are the good ones.

Again, they gave you the ability to use more modules. How is that in any way being a case of "They have taken choice away"?

Or are you saying that there is less decision-making involved because you can use more?

View Postdamonwolf, on 29 July 2014 - 03:21 PM, said:

They are pushing Weapons modules that are crap. Period.

So you do not like the current weapon modules. Fine. Continue to not use them.

But, how is that related to my original question: What is so complicated about the new module system?

They are creating more problems for themselves and for the community because now there is he potential for 48 strikes in every match...which will change the complexity, tthe play, and the mood of the game. Many people will get pretty pissed off when they receive wave atfer wave after wave of Arty/Air strikes. People will get so pissed off that PGI will be forced to make changes, and/or nerf strikes.

Again, how is this related to my original question?

Well, to be fair to PGI, I have yet to play any online game that did not do that.

Seriously Mystere? In this case More is definitely less.
1)Say I had 3 mech modules I really liked and that helped my game play. I lose 1 mech module , but gain 2 consumable and 1 weapon module. Sure I gained 2module slots overall, BUT, I lose 1 module I used, gain a weapon module that I won't use *because they are total &^$%), and 2 consumable slots that I did not need. Therefore I am stuck with 3 module slots I won't use, and am losing 1 module I did have need for. So....More is Less for me. That is the case with many people that are upset by the module system changes today.
2) By this change I am losing tens of millions of CBills and tens of thousands of GXP for modules that I can't/won't use now, and losing even more to replace what they added. So more IS ACTUALLY less.
3) They take away choice. There are only about 3 mech modules worth a damn. there are 2 that are practically mus haves. So, before where I would have had a choice on the 3rd, now I ONLY bring the 2. As for the 2 consumables...strikes strikes and strikes (no choice there for most players). There is no choice for weapon modules...they all suck. Period.
4)complicate
<a onmousedown="spk(this,{lk:'nx1fkx',en:'wotdau',io:'0',b:'wotd',tp:'lrl',m:'wotdau'})" href="http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/complicate#"></a><a target="_blank" href="http://dictionary.reference.com/audio.html/lunaWAV/C07/C0704100"><img src="http://static.sfdict.com/dictstatic/g/d/speaker.gif" border="0"></a> [v. kom-pli-keyt; adj. kom-pli-kit]
verb (used with object), complicated, complicating.
1.
to make complex, intricate, involved, or difficult: His recovery from the operation was complicated by an allergic reaction.

That sums it up. They are complicating things by creating negative emotion and hardship for players (CBills/GXP/the sheer number of strikes now in matches/etc. etc.), so they will be forced to make FURTHER changes to the module system. They will be forced to somehow mitigate their eff-up with Arty/Air strikes, and somehow try to make most players happy after they severly pissed them off with unasked-for changes that are more negative than positive. they are creating more work and more changes. I'd call that complicating things.

I love the new module set up. Cool shot, Arty, two mech modules, two or three weapon modules.

I am particularly fond of SRM range extension as well as Med laser rng extension, L laser rng extension and AMS rng extension OH! yeah! AMS overload.

The new system is lovely.
LOTS of slots...*******!

Good job PGI!

wall of text

Sigh! You write a wall of text and you still did not answer my very simple question.

I did not ask about the effects on the use of artillery.
I did not ask about whether weapons modules were *(*@#&@ or not.
I did not ask how may c-bills/GXP/whatever you spent.
I did not ask about the emotional effects or hardships caused by the changes as side effects on other systems.

I don't know why the Devs had to complicate the module system so much.

You said the module system was complicated so much.

So give an answer about the module system itself. Why is it so complicated? Because I think it is actually simple.

I've answered all of your questions Mystere. You obviously like the new module changes and love to argue...argue to the point where you constantly change your questions after they are answered. i am through discussing anything with you, as at this point, you're just trolling a post you don't like. Bye bye
