I wish they would just go ahead and remove group fire already and get rid of this ghost heat + excessive burn times nonsense.

You can post here if you want to vent o yourselves. However, if you want to vent to the Developers, then you should post in the linked thread. Posting here amongst yourselves about how bad things are and how you want them to change is like complaining about your boss behind his back without even trying to communicate with him.
