I havent seen anyone bring this mech up yet as it was put in the rewards stuff. Prolly to hyper about King Crab i guess.

Anyway, Sarna says trhe S upgrades to DHS, drops 5 tons of them and then adds a pair of streak 2's.

As the standard Atlas is really the D in this game, where do we suppose the 2 new missile hardpoints will end up? My gut says CT, alongside the 2 laser points, which will render them mostly useless. However, what if they are in the LT or RT? 4 missile hardpoints(limited by tube count though) could be interesting. How will you build it?

Yeah I am hoping they go into the torso though if they do, it will probably be the right torso where the AC/20 usually goes which also would render them useless (not many will give up their AC/20 for a couple missile launchers hehe).

It however would be awesome if they ended up in the left Torso. 4 ML, AC/20 and 4 SRM6s would make it a beastly brawler that might actually be able to stand toe-to-toe with a Dire.

Well, they're in the Left Torso with the other 2 Missile hardpoints, according to MegaMek. The only thing is that in Lore (blegh) the two SSRMs were rear-facing. I'm sure they'll still be in the Left Torso, but front-facing in MWO. Anything else would probably "break the stock loadout."

I'll probably try something along the lines of 4xSRM4, 4xML, AC5?

The Atlas S has 4 missiles in the LT. An LRM, an SRM, and a pair of Streak2s. Plus an AC20 and 4 MLAS(two CT, one per arm)

SRM boat Atlas :)

well the standard atlas lists AC20 as stock, and no change to that for S. So now that you mention that, they really cant put it in the RT I suppose. So, LT or CT unless they do something wacky and put them in the arms.

I hadnt looked in MegaMek. I knew they would be front facing. i was also thinking quad SRM4, but part of me would like to try quad streaks with a BAP, maybe a pair of ERLL in arms instead or something. Still hard to pass up quad SRM+AC20 though. DAT FACEWRECKZ.

If we want to follow the actual AS7-S, this is the best hard point layout
CT: 2E
LT: 4M
RT: 2B
RA: 1E
LA: 1E

For a little more balance

CT: 2E
LT: 2M
RT: 1B / 2M
RA: 1E
LA: 1E

Left torso. They will simply be moved to the front.
