That would be exactly why I would want that ability. I want my friends to "buy" my pre-owned mechs at the price (in c-bills) that I would normally get if I "sell" it back to PGI, but in order to perform the transaction, we both (my friend and I) each have to pay a transaction fee in MCs. There is no "gifting" involved other than the discounted price in c-bills. There is no RL financial benefit to either party since we both have to pay real money for the transaction. PGI is the only real money financial beneficiary. The only player benefit would be the reduce grind time to buy a "new" mech vs. a "used" mech.

Sure it can. I hack into your account that has umpteen thousand MC, then advertise to other players that they can have a hero mech for a "low low price of $10 (while supplies last)". As soon as they pay me, I'll buy that mech from your account and gift it to them. Same scheme for gifting MC directly.

This is mostly why. Once they get a purchasable card outside of the game (they;re working on it), you'll at least be able to gift that way.

It would be nice to be able to gift colors, or at least unlock your unit colors for all members.

Trust me, they will sell it. Back in the days of City of Heroes I had one try and sell me whatever the currency was in that game. I laughed soooooooo hard at them after pointing out how little you could use it for so that it was virtually worthless considering the ratio you earned it to what you could spend it on. But they kept trying.

When I opened this tread I was thinking more along the lines of having my friend create an account and then gifting him a hero mech bought directly from the store kind of like you can do in MWO.

or along the lines of what u can do in TF2. buy a present. wrap[ anything in said be it a mech, cbills, mc, or premium time then send such present to a friend. gift cost u x amount of mc. valve has an amazing f2p thing going on in tf2

wish so too. Would gift some friends a mechbay or a cockpititem. This is a valid way to increase sales for PGI by indirectly selling products to people who can't or don't waqnt to spent money on the game. further some people could promote their streams by giving out some MWO stuff via gifting mechbays or cockpititems.
