A gamemode where all players fight on equal ground with the same equipment and same options.

What would be disabled would be the following:

- Consumables
- All pilot efficiencies. Of course you can drop with any mech, you just don't get the efficiency bonuses
- All modules. Those are not affordable to new players.
- Mechs that are only acquirable with MC. Especially the best clan Mechs (Direwolf/Timberwolf) and some of the Heroes have no place in a newbie friendly game.

In short, you would have a fair game. New players can feel at home and can actually achieve something during their first games. Experienced players can show how to play a certain game type or map in terms of movement and positioning.

A, rather nice, side effect of this would be that all the mechs get their character back. The assault would feel very heavy and slow again. It will emphasize the original roles of the mechs more as they originally were intended.

Premium time doesn't need to give you extra XP. Since there are no mech efficiencies. Instead, you get more C-bills than the premium time bonus gives you now.

What do you think? This could also be a nice tournament mode don't you think?

I mean, I'm not really sure I stand well with these "noob friendly ideas."
Back in closed beta we had standard mechs. No quirks, lower heat cap. ****. Lower cbills too.
It was painful.

But now the champion trial mechs are actually pretty damn good. I find myself hopping into a firestarter, shadowhawk, or orion sometimes-- the configs aren't that bad.

Great idea to remove the bonuses for this newbie game made. Hadnt thought of it myself but worth looking at.

What you described is basically how Stock Mech Monday is played. We just need a full queue for that.
