Why exactly is that in the game, and it needs to be removed... no point in it whatsoever

Makes sense to me.

Run at 90km/h then lost your right leg.
A part from the falling-on-the-ground part.
Don't you think you'll need a few second to take position to use the remaining leg?

And I think this is nonsense, too.

Please use correct terms.
Also, there is no such thing as LRM/AC stunlock.

It's because the gyro is trying to compensate for the sudden impact with one good leg and what should be a length of scrap.
There is even a thing in some of the books. Where they have to compensate for sudden losses in armor.

I think that this should go as well, hitreg is rather good these days on lights, and max speed with one leg its capped anyway
its a bit "outdated" that if you loose a leg and a random medium laser, just glancing you for no real damage, slows you down to 15kph again

as much as I love lore and fluff stuff, don't use this in a balance discussion. This is not about lore or physics. You get slowed down, when you get shot, this was added a year ago or so.
The question is not *why* it is this way. The question is, does it have to be or not?

I'm not. I'm using lore to justify a balance decision the devs made by making impact effect a legged mech. As it should. Because technically that mech should be crawling on the ground and near useless. I agree with their decision in this case.
Edit: Justify isn't the right word. It's more like I'm using lore to make even more sense of a decision that already makes sense.

No, really, it is rediculous and just more torture. Pgi likes to kick you when you are down and go out of their way to make bad games or situations absolutely harrowing.

Because in TT if you lost a leg you would automatically fall down and have a horrible time even trying to stand up. Instead of torturing you with that, they make you move slowly. That wasn't enough since some lights could still outrun some Heavy/Assault chassis at half speed so they capped it AND put in that you move even slower when you take damage.
If they followed TT rules you would be crying and headdesking instead of annoyed.

My GTX760 works totally fine on highest settings. Only reason I lower some of the settings is because I don't want to see trees blocking my FoV.
