Title says it all. The warhorn was nerfed into oblivion. Currently, only mechs within 35 meters are affected by it.

EDIT: since people seem to assume this thread is about making the warhorn sound global with some huge change I want to clarify I would like to see it or rather hear it change (Ha get the pun) at ranges up to 600 meters so the mech being blasted hears it.

Quote

I find it hilarious that the vast majority of people I play against, who are the same people in leagues, house of Lords, swk sjr etc all use Warhorns. I see players not in those units using them as well. Then I see people I only see on the forum complaining how they break immersion and that no one wants them. If this is the case why is it that the vast majority of mechs I run into have them equipped?

I started this thread semi seriously. Yes I want to see the radius of the warhorn increased, yes I had a friend buy a heavy metal because he thought it was funny. It literally served no real purpose in the game as the 733c and dragon slayer were superior mechs. All the changes to the game happened and he dropped it. When he came back and saw the radius the heavy metals horn had he was quite pissed and left again. This is a case of changing a product after it was delivered.

I find it hilarious this has devolved into people claiming it breaks immersion etc without giving an alternate solution such as possibly making a toggle for the warhorn sound. If immersion is truly an issue this is the only way to solve the problem as any warhorn is likely highly unrealistic.

No, they're annoying and were a terrible idea to begin with.

Like with just about everything in this game, opinions vary. I happen to enjoy them. I don't know about them being "unnerfed" or whatever, but I like them and don't mind hearing them on the battlefield.

I paid money to preorder a clan package for the warhorn to annoy people with it. I have a friend who bought the Heavy Metal simply because the sound effects were annoying. One of the reasons he quit the game was because they reduced the radius it's warhorn could be heard.

If I can only remember to equip mine. Always forgetting till after the fact.

I do not mind them personally but I do not pay that much attention to it either.

I think if they increased the radius of the warhorn, there should be a sound option to turn it off completely. I don't really care to hear the things. In my opinion, the only people that should hear the horns are the owners, maybe the player they destroyed but that's it. I think my major issue with them is that they ruin the feel of the game, as do a lot of the loud camouflage patterns. It takes away from the tactical feel and turns it into more of a goofy light and sound show. My opinion anyway.

If a reason like that makes him quit I will most certainly not be missing him whoever he was....

To be totally honest I'm glad he quit, he sounds like a really annoying guy and so do you.

Now they have the juvenile warhorns, when are they implementing a "teabag" module?

That might be the stupidest reason for quitting I've ever heard.

I always figured it should have been only for the mech equipping it. I mean they are inside your cockpit.

Hey look. It's a guy that knows everyone's opinion of everything in MWO. Take a picture, kids. If only he'd use his omniscient powers for good instead of MWO.

wahts the big deal, they only can go off 12 times during a drop. unless the devs would add a button so we could blast them anytime we want :o

But only if you can fit it inside an assault chassis

it would sound so cartoonish to hear it from a commando
