Extra Dhs Question

Damn I am just full of Qs today......anyhow, I am running a Timby with BAP(or CAP in this case)/TCMKIII/LRM15+Art (w/2 1/2 tons ammo)/CERLL x 2/CERML x 2. Would taking 1 ton of armor off the legs and trading a DHS be worth the trade? Dose 1 DHS make that much of a difference? I have tried chaining the Lasers and doing Alphas with them, I assume ghost heat comes into play with the alpha. I watch my heat and don't normally fire everything, wait until lrms run dry (unless OOP comes up) and then move in with the lasers. Been doing ok not much in the way of overheat, but just was wondering if 1 more DHS would been worth the loss of some leg armor?
Thanks for the advice

At higher levels of play, a lot of players will actually deliberately target your TW's legs because the Torso hitboxes are very tanky. Also, one extra DHS isn't that much more toward your heat efficiency.
As for ghost heat, there is no ghost heat on 2x CERLL + 2x CERML. Ghost heat only applies to 3 or more Larges fired together ( or within a half a second of each other) or 7 or more Mediums and/or Smalls fired together (or within .5 seconds, again).
You can find out more about the ghost heat penalties on the Smurfy website here: http://mwo.smurfy-ne...eapon_heatscale

Is the increase of a mk3 not really that noticeable over a mk1 ie a TC is useful but you don't notice the improvement that much and a mk1 is more or less just as good as a 3?
Also, since I am here, would 2 DHS give a noticeable return?
Thanks,

One of these is in the in-game mechlab. In the little mech summary window above the social button there is a measurement called heat management. It goes from 0-2. I don’t know what it measures precisely, but I have found anything under 1 runs too hot and if you are near 2 then you can probably swap out a heat sink or two.
On Smurfy’s, he provides a tool called Weaponlab--it’s just under the top navigation. This will give you a more detailed look at the heat efficiency of the mech.

I would consider a TC MK III, but really nothing above it. I feel like maybe that's about the point where it stops being worth the tonnage/crit slots. But I only run a TC on maybe two mechs.
As for 2 DHS, it really depends on your build. I'd say with what you have above, 2 DHS might be worth it, though I would personally go for 2 tons more ammo. But I also tend to run hot mechs, anyway. So take my advice with a grain of salt.

Edit: Gauvan is right, take a look at ti in Smurfy. If it raises your efficiency by 1-2% or some such, not worth. 4% or more per DHS, worth considering.

The TC3 bonus is 9.25%, where the TC1 bonus is 7.25%, so no it's not worth the 2 tons.
Drop to the TC1 for 2 more DHS.

One heatsink won't make or break you but a ton of armor gives you a little extra padding between staying alive and getting ripped apart.
